Morning, all. Chilly and windy here today. Temperatures due to drop a bit further towards the end of the week though the possibility of snow has receded.
Had a miserable day yesterday. Not sure whether to be angry, sad or just resigned. Best thing to do is just get on with work, of which I have no shortage today. Sorry about the whinge.
TS, I've taken to resting my mouse on the black close box of that ad to see whether a link shows towards the bottom left of my browser screen (I use Chrome, but I think they're all quite similar). There's a sweet spot about two or three mm in from the right where it doesn't come up and that's the spot to click on to make it disappear. Clicking on the x itself is a sure-fire way to open the ad.
Rant - there's only quite a small space between the top adverts and the lower ones when viewing 'unread posts' so when I clicked on the top unread post - it opened the latest *expletive deleted* bottom ad.
It means I have to remember to scroll up to move the top post away from the bottom ad before I can read the post, rather than an ad that I must have already clicked unintentionally at least a couple of dozen times. I wonder if GYO gets paid per click, that would explain the stupidity of the page layout, wouldn't it?
I may just take a break from the forum for a while.... so you know why, if I do
Today I am using my kindle as when on the tablet yesterday I had the same problem Thelma, I hope this problem doesn't stay with us permanently

Good afternoon Folks,a dry but cold day today though the temperature is showing 9c so a bit warmer than the past two days, still watching the pheasant going round the garden, this is the first time that one has been in the garden. Also watching the Scottish news where they are showing a trial using worms to clean sewage water if you want some info about it try checking on the Scottish Water web site

Afternoon n'alln'all
Out early today to book club, then getting in shopping to take back to the UK for family.
Not yet unpacked but I deserve a brew
Thelma...I've highlighted the problems with that bottom advert with admin twice now...there's not much more we can do I'm afraid until they respond. Hang on in there lass!
We've got the rubbish weather rary. It's been raining and hailstones/sleet most of the day, and only 6C.
I think someone gave you and Bramble our 'normal' weather by mistake!
Think I need to get the packing sorted this evening so I've got tomorrow to crack on with more sewing....
I'm really looking forward to an enforced rest!!!!
weather has been vile again . Getting to be monotonous. Never mind. Went to an electrical wholesaler to buy a single electrical socket and a drywall lining box both of which were out of stock at B&Q (we have no other similar stores in Aberdeen now). Got what I needed for the princely sum of 2.44 much much cheaper than I would have paid B&Q.
I'll do the job with them tomorrow or the day after maybe
