  • Good morning all.
Very cold but dry here with a temp of just 1 deg.
Off to the hairdressers shortly to have a much needed hair do.
    See you all later.
    Have a good day.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

    • Morning...………….yep frozen Brains faggots are what I have, at least a couple of times a month in the winter, used to be our pubs tea on skittle team night, served with onion gravy and mushy peas......best not to stand behind me the next day.

      • That’s how we used to eat those Savoury ducks Burnie plenty of mushy peas and onion gravy. Our butcher used to cook everything in the back of his shop, black puddings, hams, and lots of things that I’d never eat like chitterlings and hodge.

Butchers don't seem to sell faggots, nowadays, but Trashco sell these for when the mood takes me.

In Greece I'd buy Kokoretsi - made from assorted bits and pieces (best not ask exactly what tbh) wrapped in a caul - which were faggot-like and delicious.
Brains have a cheek to call them faggots even if you like them. Our local butcher makes wonderful faggots, as does my grandson who is also a butcher. I used to make my own but it has become too difficult to get the ingredients any more.

Kokoretsi are very much like proper faggots.

                • Hi all!

I had an email from 'the grapevine' wishing me a happy birthday.. thought I'd better log in, it's been a while! - at least a year I guess..

                  Hope everyone's well!

The last time I was on here there were quite a few technical issues with the site.. I'll have a potter about and see what's what..

                    • Hi VC.. it must be longer than a year... I've moved and changed jobs!

I am still growing, and have set up a local gardening club with 170 members.

I'll have a good look at the forum.. tell me it's easier to upload photos...and that posts no longer randomly disappear..

                      • Its 2 years since you last posted!!

Photos disappeared about then but they're OK now. Uploading photos seems to depend on what you're uploading from and the size of the image. If you get stuck, somebody can help you. Not me, though, I can't understand mobile technology stuff!!

It's the having to upload to photo bucket and then copy a link that puts me off..
