Good evening, have missed the last couple of days as I had some problems with frozen pipes at the church which hopefully has now been sorted, yesterday was the coldest it has been for 3 or 4 years down at - 10c and twhen finished at the church a neighbour came along to see if I was going walking but when walking on the ice ruts its throughing my knees out so had to decline which was a big mistake as OH decided I could help with cleaning the house which involved moving the couches and chairs then polishing the dining room table and chairs, so in future I will be using spikes and sticks and going out walking, going over the post that I missed I see AP likes watching the birds, and so do I AP so do I but must say they keep you busy I have to fill the feeders three times a day just now, but it is worth it, well keep safe and warm and if you need to go out take care. Goodnightit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Morning all
-28F (-2C) I just can't do Celsius or centigrade as we used to call it. Luckily there's widget on iMac to convert.
Clear blue sky. Brace of rail replacement buses just gone by, struggling up the hill.
Snow gone from pavements, but frost just as bad on gradient.Riddlesdown (S Croydon)

Well...that was a surprise!
I was just checking when pancake day is (usually around Valentines Day) and this year it's the 5th March!
That's a long time to wait ...."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Haven't made pancakes in ages. Not quite the same but maybe some Scotch pancakes would make a nice supper today (lunch is main meal and we're never very hungry in the evening). Thanks for the thought.
Blustery, but not as bad as the last few days. And bright blue skies. Meaning it's perishing cold today again. So I'm stopping indoors as much as I can, to be honest.
Have a great Sunday, everyone.

I remember on holiday one year that pancake day was followed the next day by Valentines Day....I took all the ingredients for pancakes and all the pretty red table decorations .
It would have been funny explaining to customs why I was taking those things with me
Just checked....yes, Easter is incredibly late this year (21st April)...can't see any of my garden daffodils will still be in flower by then"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Good morning all.
Late on parade as I was reading the newspapers.
6 degs here this morning but a drizzly rain is falling as well.
Off to church shortly and no other plans for the day.
Stay safe and warm and have a good day.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Afternoon all. Frost has lifted but it isn't any warmer, just not quite so cold. Local young farmers just knocked at the door trying to sell some fym to boost their funds. No use to me here though. I did try to get them to deliver a load to my plot but 26 miles was too far for them . Made french onion soup for lunch served with gruyere cheese toasted on top of sourdough bread. Yummie, yummie, yummie
