^I don't mind who plays with it, so long as the job gets done. I've been having a look on the local secondhand website. There's even one with a bailer in my price range, and I have been thinking about making hay (while the sun shines, of course!).

Good afternoon it has been dull here all day, and as OH had a doctors appointment just after midday we didn't go out anywhere, so was back out trying to remove some of the bamboo roots that are still in the ground I was clearing, I'm finding it a bit difficult to get all the roots out, so was wondering if anyone could tell me if covering the ground with weed membrane will kill it off and if not would spreading caustic soda and soaking the ground prior to covering with membrane do it, I don't really want to use roundup or any of that type of weedkiller in the garden, though if Snoop buys herself a wee tractor she could come over and remove it for me, why she cany jist buy a big barra and a ball o string for bailing beats me, she would save herself some money that wayit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

My Willow cuttings arrived today.I Potted 6 different willow varieties up in to a 6 inch pot.
While I was on I potted up a Poundland Deutzia and a Poundland Philadelphus each into 6 inch pots with a view to planting out once they have a bit of root establishment. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

OMG ...have you ever tried bailing hay from a wheelbarrow rary?
I once (many moons ago when you were of a 'Moyan age' tried baling up in a box where you had to manually compress hay and it was rediculously hard work. I never really got the hang of it as the bails would split open when trying to move them!!!!
Bamboo roots are the devil rary....depends on the variety but good luck with that! Maybe borrow a Panda????"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Rary I had the same problem with bamboo roots.
Dont know how much time and energy I spent trying to get rid of them.
In the end, I hired a guy with a digger and he had the job was done in no time,
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Nicos the wheelbarrow is for shifting the sheep muck that Snoop wants a trailer for and you can use the string to tie the rucks by hand instead of bailing and I am just reaching a Moyan age now, please remember I am not the same age as you and VC as for the suggestion of a panda, I cant do as bramble suggests and get a digger in so how am I going to get a car init may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Evening all, been a lovely day here but turned chilly in the afternoon. I had a spell in the plot and managed to inherit a brazier from a plot recently given up so of course I had myself a fire and a bit of a tidy up. Disappointingly, we're still getting mice in our traps. I had two today and my plot neighbour had 4 . Had a gift from a local cat which I've mentioned in another thread but least said about that the better.
