    Evening all.

Yippee, I actually managed to have a couple of hours at the allotment today. Spent most of the time forking and shaking out the roots of a hedge nettle horrible weed which has invaded my polytunnel. Did the same excercise outside the part of the tunnel I'd done. The smallest bit grows so it was tedious to say the least. Went to the tip on the way home and then into M&S where I bought their twenty quid meal deal and a few other nice bites.

Had to wait in in the afternoon for the local constabulary who are investigating the spate of vandalism in our area. Hope they catch the sods. 6 vehicles damaged and will cost several hundreds of pounds if not more to repair. Growwwllll.

Good luck, Nicos. I've cut down on quite a lot of stuff already but there's so much Christmas stuff (spicy biscuits and panettone) left. Unopened packets will stay sealed for a bit.

Meanwhile, yet another very cold night. Need to get another max-min thermometer. The last one didn't even survive one night. All the fluid separated into little bits and no amount of shaking would get them to join back up again. Not as cold as the first year or so we were here, but much, much colder nights than the last few years.

Vaguely planned the irrigation with Mr Snoop last night. The main patch (which is starting to feel a bit like the secondary patch, actually, even though it's bigger) will have twelve beds 15 metres long by 70-80 cm. This will require more irrigation lines, but will be so much easier for me to work. The winter patch will be fenced in, meaning that all the things the dogs like to eat can be placed off limits. I'll put some fine mesh towards the bottom of the fence to keep the cats nad chickens out. Which also means the chickens can free range all day, so they'll be happy. And the tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, potatoes, peas and melons will all be safe. So I can't really call it the winter patch any more.

So, today is a proper working day. Hard to believe. Better get on with it. Have a brilliant day, everyone.

We have pleasant and mild today, suns peeping through and I really must cut the grass as soon as it dries a bit lol. Might go to the Stonehaven fire balls tonight, or we might stay in the warm and dry and watch Jools Holland instead.

                          Morning All!

It's like a fresh spring day out there today!

                          "Happy New Year" Everyone!

Home alone today, well thats a lie, youngest Daughter now with child (Oscar apparently) didn't get in till early hours, so won't be rising any time soon.

So seed sorting (Tomatos) and sowing (Chilli's) is on the cards for the remainder.

Have fun and enjoy what ever you decide to get upto!

Interesting, Rary. Perhaps I should agree to agree more with Mr Snoop. Would certainly make for a more peaceful 2019 and he is right more often than I am (not that I am ever saying that out loud).

Signed up in the end for the Grow Veg garden planner. Still learning how to use it, but am not totally convinced at the moment. It was on special offer, so not a massive expense in the grand scheme of things. Everything is stored on their server, presumably to stop people copying the software, but saving the results to my computer seems to be limited to just a pdf picture of my plan. I don't find that terribly satisfactory. Plus, they recommend growing garlic at 10 cm spacing between plants in rows 25 cm apart. I've never grown them that closely. I can alter the preset spacing, but it makes me a bit nervous about their other recommendations. Mind you, they should know what they're on about, so maybe they're right. I can see me going back to a paper plan and diary next week!

Freezing cold again. And due to get even colder over the course of the week. Mr Snoop has just taken the dogs out, but he says he'll be lighting the fire as soon as he gets back.

Not much other news for the first day of the year. Best wishes, everyone. Hope you have a lovely start to the new year.

Morning everyone, Happy New Year to you all.
Day one of my diet, again, Nicos. Fingers crossed for some weight loss
Didn’t go out last night, choosing to go to bed with a book.
Hubby popped down our local club, didn’t hear him come in.
Nothing much planned for today, although food shopping should come into it.
I too think I have a hiatus hernia ladies, really bad over the festivity’s. Now on this diet I should be fine again.
                              Have a lovely day folks

Good morning all and a happy new year.
Saw in the new year with my family.
It was quite strange as it was in my childhood home that my son and partner bought.
However we had a lovely evening.
It's a beautiful clear mild morning g here so hope to go out walking and do a bit of gardening later.
                                Have a good day all.
