  • Afternoon all, beautifully bright and white out. Yes we've had snow but only about an inch yet schools are closed . When I was a lad, yadda yadda yadda, I know I try not to use my growing up days as a yardstick but we had to brave feet of snow and blind drift and walk to school if school transport didn't arrive. Kids have it too easy nowadays and will have no idea how to cope in the face of adversity.

I've been outside to feed the birds but scuttled back inside to avoid a snow flurry. Can't cope with the adversity these days .

    Now. Brexit. nope better not

    • Afternoon all, just a bit of scattery icy snow stuff, have decided to leave the girls where they are for now,as its better than a temporary place,i know i need the space for the new poly, but i cannot use it,even if i had it up,they come first, new bed arrangment is great so far, beds being separats pushed together is best of both worlds at the mo,just got sort out large sheets to fit over the lot,for ease of applying to the bases, buy new super king sizes, make 2 into 1 with a centre seam,or just a flat sheet,am cutting down some good other quilts into singles, waste not want not, then charity can have whats left of my stash, yer i know, set myself another few jobs, but worth it.

      • Hello all. It's cold. I don't do cold.

I also have greenhouse envy. I went and stayed with my daughter and her boyfriend for the New Year down on the south coast. He bought a house last year which is in an expensive area but was in need of TLC. He bought a beautiful greenhouse. 8 x 10. The side facing a fence has built in shelves and a potting table. It's pale green painted wooden framed. And it's full of mostly rubbish!! When I looked at it first thing in the morning it was obviously housing an army of slugs and snails. I told my daughter I envied it. They spent last weekend sorting it out. If he doesn't use it productively he will find it full of his girlfriends mother's plants.

        • Good evening, a very cold but bright day today, greenhouse started off at 2c this morning and when I was in before I went for the boy's it showed 23c but no doubt it will have plunged again, still at my daughter's watching the boys but was out a few minutes ago and its freezing, keep warm, keep safe and enjoy your evening
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I must check if there's an app that'll identify birdsong. So many times I've heard but have been unable to see songsters.

                  • Chilly, chilly, chilly. Hard frost everywhere. And there was a fox nearby last night, which had the dogs barking like mad. So Mr Snoop let them out and left the door open for them. So the kitchen is freezing cold. Time to get the fire going without further ado.

Catch you later. Have a great day, meanwhile.

                      • Mornings,
-1 and a bit here Brrr. I'm not one of the hardy types that still go to their plots when it's so cold, so indoors jobs today Yesterday I started rubbing down chairs, so more of that today - I reckon.

I just put some extra food down for the birds and Mollycat is sitting on the windowledge making funny noises at those daring to land in her garden

                        Have a good'un!

6 degree here and a wet morning.

Bed linen changed, laundry done and the ironing finished and hung in the pressed.
Lunch now but dont know what I will do with the afternoon.
