Sun’s shining, back door’s open, temp +10. Lovely. Only problem is the two troublesome trees that were chopped down. I have numerous baby trees sprouting all over the garden from the left over roots. They weren’t even my trees. I have no idea as to how to get rid of them."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
"It is neccessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live" (also Alexandre Dumas)

Its been a lovely day here, a day spent cutting back the overwintering herb cuttings and relishing that thrill you get when you see a new shoot forming at the base of last year's dead foliage. Yay!! Its survived.
The chooks were with me, lying on their sides, fanning out their feathers, in the sunshine.
I could do with a few more days like today, such a pleasure to be out after a few days of snow. I think the chooks could too!

Good evening all.
We had a lovely sunny day here.
Took grandson out for a walk in his buggy.
Came home with a load of dahlia tubers from Lidl.
Very pleased with my purchases.
Gad son and his wife for dinner.
They are all gone home so I am chilling out.
It was a busy day.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Evening all,
Been definitely less chilly here today but not sufficiently warmer to make a noticeable difference to the snow unlike Rary and Burnie who have had theirs washed away with the rain.
We made (note the we, it was a joint effort) macaroni chesse for tea but what a disaster. I bought ready grated mature cheddar from tesco for the sauce but only notice after the sauce was made that it was reduced fat cheddar. Didn't melt into the sauce properly and didn't birsle(good scots word) on top in the oven. First macaroni failure ever .

Good evening, like VC I spent some time out in the garden today have finally got the bamboo roots out, I will cover the ground with weed membrane and site my raised bed on it, just hope that this will be sufficient to suppress any missed roots, the one tool I did miss while removing the roots was a pick, does anyone still use one of those, I always found it a great tool for clearing ground of obstinate roots etc. AP your macaroni and cheese couldn't be any worse than what my OH bought a Dbs. GC the other day it was so dry and tasteless that she had to leave it, I tried it but couldn't eat it, I do not like paying for poorly cooked food, but she didn't want me to go and complain about it, though I should have as some other poor person would pay for a meal of that. Well it's good to see the daylight stretching, and while out in the garden today I heard a woodpecker pecking away so hopefully spring won't be to far off, take care enjoy your week and pass on a smile. Of course our idea of the meaning of "young" differs - yours is in your memory and mine is knowing that I am young and always will be younger than you.
As for Ed, you said Goodnight to him so i assumed you'd know who he was.
There used to a TV programme about Ed the Talking Horse. My grandfather believed the horse really could talk. Gramp said that "Its amazing what they can teach animals to do these days". We didn't have the heart to tell him anything different.
So rary, were you saying Goodnight to a Talking Horse, a new Grape, your Lodger, or maybe your OH is called Edna?
