  • Got a flying start at the day today, largely aided by one of our cats. Different technique to Mollycat's but not terribly endearing: his approach is to see whether his nose will fit up my nose. Answer no. But instant response from me.

Anyway, busy, busy morning, packing up boxes of stuff to take to the retirement house (not sure what to call it except that). Chucking out some things, admittedly not much, as we go through it all. Dogs not too sure, but as we've cleared a bookcase behind their beds, they've now got a bit more room to stretch into.

Very bright again. And no frost today. Invited round to neighbours down the valley and round the corner for lunch, so that makes life easy today. Apart from coming up with the small talk. I can gasbag away on the internet, but in person I'm a bit hopeless.

    Have a great day, everyone.

    • Good morning all.
A sunny start to the day but there are still showers around.
Off to church shortly and then home to watch the St Patrick's day on T.V.
May go out for the evening.
      Have a good day all.

      • Afternoon all.

Well the snow has had no impact and is already all gone. Been a day of April type showers though and I spent the morning in the garage fixing up some additional shelveing and then sorting through some boxes which have been unopened since we moved here 3 years ago. It hurts but I've thrown some stuff out, .

        • Quite a productive day, had a voucher to use at one of the GC's, so got some MPC and a few fluers for SWMBO, potted up my pot leeks into yoghurt pots and set up the water butts to collect some rainwater, hopefully the worst of the frosts are done now.

          • Good evening,a bit late but have been a wee bit busy today, went out to feed the birds this morning (the nuthatch has been a regular visitor this past month) and it felt quite nice got ready for church and just before going out and the heavens opened, but coming home after the service it was dry so decided to get out to the garden, shifted a couple of plants from pots into the garden and sawed up some wood, then potted on some begonias, my tomatoes, peppers and onions are all doing well, bpetunias and pansies are up but for some reason no marigolds are showing yet, I will give them an other week and if still nothing I will start again. Well enjoy your week, and good gardening
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

            • Lunch at the neighbours' yesterday was a success. As we were walking up to the house, Mr Snoop said, "Now, don't get hysterical". Which I took to be an insult, but he said that F and I go a bit overboard when we greet. So I took it that she was as nervous as me and that made me feel a whole lot more relaxed. Phew.

Another reasonably early start, again aided by cat. This time yowling to let me know he'd got a mouse. So got up speedily to avoid a mousy nose up mine.

Temps due to drop. Yesterday was 27 ºC. We're forecast 14 today. A bit more normal. And night-time temps dropping back into potential frost zone. So, back to lighting the range again. Not sorry about that.

Busy working today, but all under control. Am eating more regularly because of it, and sleeping better too. Long may it last!

Have a great day, everyone. Thinking of you, Janie.

              • Morning All

Dry, bright and chilly. Off to pay a few bills today, mainly the council tax bill which dropped through the letter box Friday.

Might be allowed out to play later

                Have a happy Monday

                      • Mornings,
A more civilised cat awakening this morning, just gentle tapping until I opened my eyes
Bright and sunny here, but only 6C, think I'll wait 'til it has warmed up a bit before I go gardening.
Checked yesterday and the greenhouse frame on the allotment was bent a funny shape, so need to think whether it is worth bothering with, at all *sigh*
                        Have a good'un

No sun here but it's doing it's best.
It's a bank holiday here so it will shorten the week.
Family visiting today so I may not get much gardening done
                                Have a good day all.
