  • Good afternoon
Was lovely and sunny this morning, so went to the plot. Next thing I knew it was 3 o'clock - I know I'll pay for it later but it was lovely to be there. Planted all my shallots and onions which were outgrowing their modules and made a start on the brassica bed.
Someone had kindly cut my grass paths - so things weren't as bad as I thought they would be, which really cheered me up.

Home now with a cuppa and a sandwich and think a soak in the bath would be a good idea next

Enjoy what's left of the day

    • Strimmed plot edges. Potted on squash. Sowed some lettuce. Took a couple of knackered wheelbarrows to the dump (also got rid of a pile of beer cans that had somehow accumulated at the plot...)
Cut grass round plot. Left IOU for 50p in "the book" for petrol money for aforementioned cutting...
Repotted a terribly root bound peppermint I'd found in the garden at home whilst clearing a 'forgotten gem' yesterday.
Almost finished the compost from the one ready compost bin - the next one is probably two weeks away from being ready (though I do seem to have redicsovered the knack for composting this year )

Bokashied some kitchen left overs - yet to do a really meat heavy bokashi but so far so good with fish and dairy and so forth...

Had a beer in the sun (nearly took tshirt off but thought I'd spare the new plotholder across the way who seems a little wary of me foro some reason )

      Time for a bath...

              • Good evening it has been a lovely day here today, though when the sun went behind the clouds the wind felt cold, have been in the garden all day, once home from church, and now need to go out and cover the plants in the greenhouse and cold frames as the forecast is that it will go down to 1c overnight, so don't want to take any chances with things, then I think I will have an early night as I feel a bit tired and sore, plus I am getting pins and needles in my hands when I am sitting at the computer, think I will need to get that checked out, however I do have a smile to pass on, so keep it moving Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                    BOO!

                    Like that?

Frosty start here today. Glad OH remembered to put the geraniums under cover last night, cos I hadn't
Mrs Mop morning for me. Then swimming then hopefully into the garden for the rest of the day.
Just had my weigh in...still losing, but less so this week. Think it's the swimming putting on muscle cos I sure ain't eating any more!
Still...every bit counts and it's heading in the right direction
                    Kettle's on...help yourselves!

                        • Happy anniversary to the Flos. Hope you have a lovely day.

Putting me to shame there, Nicos, with the diet. I've just had a piece of granary and walnut bread with butter and jam. Shocking. But very nice. Told Mr Snoop that baking the loaf would be the last use of the range till autumn. I don't think he was listening because he brought in kindling for a month!

Not very sure what to do this morning. First day of the new regime (no working mornings), but am feeling a bit queasy this morning, so don't fancy gardening exertions. Maybe washing-up and a little light cleaning...

Anyway, have a great day everyone.

Edited to add: Sorry, Rary. Should have mentioned. If it's only at your computer, maybe it's to do with your chair height. Plus, I find wrist supports for keyboard and mouse essential. I use a moveable one for the mouse like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=Fellowe...&ref=sr_nr_n_4
I didn't pay anything like that for it, but the ones that are fixed to a mouse mat don't suit me. There are bound to be others. Or maybe you could make one? Anything that means your hands aren't forced up in relation to your wrists. Not sure if I've explained that clearly: your hands and wrists should be in line with each other. If it isn't this, then maybe it's those heavy slabs you've been lifting. Take care, either way.

                          • Mornings!
Tingly arms here as well, cos of too much gardening yesterday, but it was such a lovely day

Cold last night, but luckily no actual frost. It's another lovely start but slower to warm up then yesterday, door still closed - which is annoying Mollycat no end, cos I'm refusing to get up to open it every 5 minutes. Cats eh?

                            Have a good'un

                              • I'm probably preaching to the converted but I wanted to make a curved/shaped border at my garden so had an inspiration and used white flour from the cupboard to roughly mark out the area concerned.
I went along it with a spade afterwords pushed in vertically, then cut out a vee by slicing at 45 degrees from the inside.
I have bought black weed suppressant and had the idea of adding white pebbles after covering but I may just leave it as soil, eventually filled with shrubs.
