  • With respect to the chat in the rant thread about organisation of plants, last year I made a chart of what plant was in which pot in the propagators and trays. They are marked by the manufacturers as numerical in one direction and alphabetical in the other. I also decided to use my old floppy disc storage boxes to organise my seed packets.

Neither of these worked. The pots were moved around to make room for more plants and I didn't update the charts (as in "I'll do it later when I have time"). As to the seed packets, I couldn't decide whether to organise them in alphabetical order of plant name or by optimum month of planting.

Another beautiful day that I've wasted. Mostly spent indoors achieving nothing apart from some household admin and a trip to the doctors to get the details as to how to log into their new software. My brother was coming out on the same errand as I was going in so I ended up at his for an hour for a cuppa.

                • Good morning! And a lovely morning it is. The electric has gone off in the whole street so domestic drudgery off the list until it’s back on so a good excuse to get out in the garden. Fortunately it went off after i’d made my tea. Laters.

                  • Mornings!
Another cold night 5C, it looks lovely out there, now, but we've still got a nagging cold Easterly wind - lovely in the greenhouse for more seed sowing, today, and there's room now the onions have been planted out.
Snoop - the Dulce de Fuentes Onion seedlings do look good already, bigger than the Long Red Florence, so I've high hopes for them

You could end up with some proper whoppers. My biggest was about 3 lbs. Still really tasty and sweet. Did you try any of the Moradas de Amposta?

                          • Phew not used to these sort of temperatures up here, especially at this time of year, just cut all the grass and I'm melting, everything will need a good water later too.

                            • Looked out over the lawn - the green of the grass is almost totally obscured by the white and yellow of the daisys and the dandelions - and smiled.

Some people might be disheartened and may despair at the state of the lawn - but not me.

                              It's not my lawn.
