No damage here that I can see, but I do worry about some of our ancient double glazing....I imagine it wouldn't take much for the seals to blow?

                  • Morning everyone, sunny here too.
Our garden is looking lovely, although I love that word verdant.
We are only growing runners this year, but lots of flowers, which are doing well (something to do with rain)
Hope alls well with you Nicos and the earthquake didn’t do any damage
                    Have a great day peeps

                    • Mornings,
I popped out into the garden with a cuppa first thing, and have only just come back in. It is really lovely out there - if you can find a spot away from quite a cool breeze.
So looks like my morning porridge has become my lunch today lol.
Need to stop pottering around and actually do some planting on the plot this afternoon!

                      Have a good'un

                      • Well all…

All is good here ..have been keeping an eye on you through some infrequent lurking and selective thread reading

I think VC is still behaving herself (relatively)

Always busy as usual but all is good generally..
Eldest finished her secondary school exams and done with that phase of her life…college next probably: what course, who knows?

Other two kids playing lots of sports and I am doing lots of coaching too…They both finish up in school for summer holidays today..
We are all heading off on our Summer hols next Friday and I am so looking forward to it!! really need it....

Gardening wise ,I am still growing way too many chillies and tomatoes
Lots of other stuff on the go in the garden and trying to battle slugs as usual ..
Busy replacing an old garden archway and old rotting boards around my beds too, so all go...
always something to keep you busy
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Mmh! Do you remember the Ted Moult adverts particularly about Tan Hill. He said you only do double glazing once. So why has that same Tan Hill pub recently had its double glazing replaced? I would really love to have the original casements back but about 200 years ago the Georgians replaced them with sashes. They were in relatively good condition when I took over the house but had them checked over and repaired. They have lasted over 200 years. I wouldn't touch UPVC windows with a bargepole.
