    • Morning all, a lovely sunny start to the day! Looks as though it’s going to be warm so it’s domestics for me this morning so that I can enjoy the rest of the day.
Hope you all have a lovely day!

      • Mornin n'alln'all
Hibou has just offered me a mouse for my breakfast
Funnily enough it jogged my memory....who (apart from rary amd VC )remember the old TV adverts 'Go to work on an egg?'

Yesterday was exceptionally hot and humid here...high 30s and it looks like it's going to get hotter over the next few days.

        • Morning, what a lovely start to the day.
Been caught up in work things for a few days, so have been missing in action.
Hope all is well with you all.
Best time of year in the garden, it’s just beautiful out there. Our only veg crop, runners are - just running up their strings
Flowers are flowering and looking lovely
Have a great, sunny day peeps

          • Happy Thursday Grapeys

I had to share with you some devastating news that I just heard on the radio/wireless and for rary and Hibou ......that's the Cat's Whisker.

We're not allowed to have a "norty step" any more because calling it "norty" makes the "child/Grape" think they are "norty" and live up to that image. Instead, we must send them to "The Reflection Area".
Most kids/dogs/some Grapes wouldn't have a clue what that meant.

Anyway, see you later, I'm off to the Reflection Area to think about what I can do today that nanny will approve of. Must wash my hands afterwards!!

Enjoy your day whether its spent reflecting or being norty.

            • Good morning,

Sun it out and I am sat in the garden with my brew enjoying the peace and quiet. Catching up with the washing so I can stick it outside while the sun is out. I will nip the allotment later this evening.

              Have a good day

              • Mornings!
It's lovely and sunny this morning - but we have nasty 30mph gusts of wind from the North. Should be snowing coming from that direction very unusual at this time of year. Still, it's lovely in the greenhouse - so guess where I'll be drinking the tea I've just made?
Trashco delivery later, though, so need to tidy the larder cupboard to make room.

                Have a good'un

I have some marigolds growing in the tomato beds AP but as I had a couple of dozen sitting in a tray I have taken your advice and planted them all into the bed, and need to ask is there any preference of type i.e. French or African marigolds

                    • Morning all.

Hotly is how we're doing here, Nicos. Normally, we keep everything closed during the day and then open up to let the cool night air in. Last night it was still hotter outdoors than in. Only a few more days to go. Though to be honest, these daytime temps are quite normal in July and August here, just not in June. Going to be a long hot summer. There have been a few minor fires locally. The autumn rains got all the grasses growing, but there's not been much since, so there's masses of tinder dry plant matter everywhere. And trees have been dying for want of water. There's quite a serious fire going on in Catalonia at the moment. Not going to be easy to control if the wind there is anything like it is here.

Me, I'm tucked away in the cellar. Very troglodytic, but very sensible. Hope you're all keeping cool/warm/dry (delete as appropriate)!

                      • Good morning all.
Beautiful sunny morning here as well but a cooling breeze as we are on the east coast.
I am going to have to put some shading on the greenhouse
My tomatoes are all in buckets and are struggling with the heat.
I am lucky in that my greenhouse had double doors which I can open.
Stay cool in this heat and dont forget the sunscreen.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Yes Thelma I did read it without my glasses and I read it as fresh marigolds, but all these little mistakes help keep VC s mind active, and at her age she need all the help she can get
