So, economical with the truth, Rary. Even I remember the flak Geoffrey Howe got for that, so I'm sure both you and VC will.
Hedgehoglets sound like a nice addition to the household, Nicos. Looking forward to seeing piccies.
Very windy and a bit of rain in the night. Wet ground and wind combined to make some of my pepper plants slide over. Going to have to bung some supports in the ground I guess. Brief thunderstorm so far today and looks like more to come. At least it's now cold so hail less likely.
Backache improving but some terrible twinges on and off. Must be awful to suffer with backache all the time. Anyway, got paid work for today and tomorrow, so hoping I'll be fighting fit for gardening leave starting Wednesday.
Friends coming round for supper tonight. So better get me skates on so I've got the day's work out the way before cooking and tidying required.
Have a good one, guys.

Morning everyone, cloudy and dull here, but not cold
I need a bit of help
Hubby left his binoculars out all night and a Fox has scented on them.
Any ideas what could neutralise the revolting smell? They are so banned from the house ........
In other news, weekend went well , ate out last night and then surprised our daughter with a visit.
Sat chatting in her beautiful container garden - she rents - was lovely with the GG sitting with us as well.
Hope someone can help me with the Fox problem
Have a great dayNannys make memories

Good morning all.
A dull start to the day here.
Just domestics on the cards for me today,
Nannysally, did you try sprinkling bread soda on the binoculars.
Doesn't it absorb smells?
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Mornin n'alln'all
Crazy start to the day...all unexpected domestic 'stuff'
Off out in a sec to collect a friend from the ferry.
Hoglets are doing fine. I'd like to see them drinking more but they are at least eating wet food and pooping!
Yuk NS!...no ideas from me I'm afraid.
(Aren't you supposed to put tomato ketchup on dogs where they have rolled in fox poo?)?"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France

having a rest day after a Sunday trip down to Clackmannanshire for an organised visit to Cowden Japanese Garden at Dollar. Amazing and especially the sight of hundreds of baby frogs hopping about. We also visited a couple of specialist vegetable growers/exhibitors gardens . Really good to see how others go about it. Over 260 miles travelled and really tiring but enjoyable nonetheless

I'm off up to see the family in Cumbria next week. I wanted to go for a week before the majority of children broke up from school but the weekends seem to be permanently booked up for years ahead. So 5 days is it. A long way to go for such a short time. I can't stay with the family as they don't have enough room. I'm taking the dogs too. They will absolutely love the walks and the river.
My cousin was hoping that we could go up Hutton Roof and visit where my mum and her sisters ashes are scattered but I know I can't do it. Although I'm getting used to the chemo, I still need to sit down every so often. I've promised her next year. She went through the same as me 20 years ago when treatment was a lot harsher so she understands.
I'm buying an irrigation kit tomorrow. I'm not letting my hard work this year die whilst I'm away."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
"It is neccessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live" (also Alexandre Dumas)

Morning all.
Lucky last night as we had supper with friends outdoors and the rain held off. Poured in the night at some stage. So all cool this morning. I even need a jumper!
Work calls... But gardening starts for real tomorrow. Ground too wet to do anything today, even to put supports in for the peppers that are tipped over at an alarming angle.
Hope you all have a good day. Good luck with getting your irrigation system, Janie.
