  • The saga of the wall is finished as I was sick of devoting time to it and worked late yesterday and finished buildng it.

I want eventually to build an Orangery, but in the short term I intend putting decking down, and to long term build the Orangery once I have sourced the windows, doors and roof lantern.

Planning and pricing and possibly ordering decking today.

Have a good day all, appears to be a lot of the wet stuff around here today.

Yes, it's a wet morning here as well.
Forecast has a yellow rain warning g for us here.
Nothing exciting today other than ironing.
      Have a good day all.

Snadgar, lovely idea, looking forward to seeing pics.

Well done Snadger, see you just needed that thing to give you a push to finish it off, with you it was because of the time it was taking up, with Hadrian it was the need to keep the hordes in the south
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

          • Good evening, not much done in my he garden the past two days yesterday it was heavy rain, today OH wanted to go to Glasgow and by the time we came back it was again heavy rain, while in Glasgow I set up to me a new phone as my daughter had upgraded her phone and the one she had takes good photos so I am going to give it a try, though flicking through it I might finish up going back to my old phone I definitely am not into computer stuff

                • Good stuff on the diet, NS. Me, I'm still at an early stage.

Slow going today. Didn't want to get up, but just as well I did as it's going to be very scorchio and windy, so the plants needed a good water to set them up for the conditions. Hand pollinated easy a dozen melon flowers. And my first squash (a spaghetti squash), but right where it's likely to get trodden on by Mr Snoop when he helps me sort out the irrigation system this evening. Another couple more courgettes too.

Going to have a lazy day today staying as cool as I can and not eating to much to make up for yesterday's excesses.

                  Have a good one, everyone.

Last in today eh?...makes a change!
Ta muchly to whoever left the breakfast tray for me....blueberries and yog...mmmm...

Mrs mop day for me , but a meal out this evening.
                    Hot, sunny and windy here

Great news on the diet NS!... very inspiring!

Our last guests left a whole fresh baguette so we actually had toast this morning, and I've made a bread and butter pudding to freeze in portions for my OH. He's near enough at his target weight so will need a few 'extras' from time to time

Off to the shops in a sec to buy in breakfasts, but there's a bin end shop nearby where OH can buy bottles of very decent beers for less than a quid. The 'unfortunate' side to that is they are always at their sell by date. "Be a pity to waste those" says he
Te hé....at least I get some company and he pays

                    • Evening all, quiet on the western front. Must be the holiday season. Weather being a pain up here. Frequent very very heavy showers . Makes working on the plot impossible.

Be better tomorrow won't it ?

                            • Morning, everyone. Another hot day here, wish I had some of your rain. Some of the plants need watering twice a day.
French climbing beans are now wafting about so high above the support that they've made their way into the nearest olive tree. Picked five very handsome courgettes. Tied up some of the toms before it got too hot and I had to come in.
Planning on having an afternoon nap today. Yippee.

                              • Morning all. A bit overcast here. Must get to the allotment later as I had to give it a miss yesterday.

I intend taking a dog cage to the plot. I use this to protect brassica seedlings that will be taken out of the greenhouse to harden off.
Weather depending I may plant out a few leeks where the Charlotte spuds were lifted.
