        • Morning all. Gorgeous day out there but with the good comes the bad. Blight warning email this morning and looks like we'll get another tomorrow. I'll give the show spuds at home a spray after breakfast and hopefully that will help preserve them. I've already cut the tops of the Red DOY and the Charlottes. Our whole allotment site has been badly hit this year.

Next job will be to strip down the front door of my car again. I had it in bits yesterday as it had become very difficult to open. I was pleasantly surprised to find it just needed a minor adjustment and now the car opens from outside with minimal effort as it should. Unfortunately I must have disconnected summat though as it now won't open from the inside and I have to stick my hand out through the window to let myself out. I'm sure it will be a 10 minute Job. I hope anyway

          • Morning all. Nicos, it's back to really hot here. 42 ºC yesterday. Am just dropping in while drinking my coffee before I go out and tie up some toms. It was very windy too yesterday, and what with that and the heat, I don't know how the plants are surviving.

Anyway, coffee drunk now. Catch you later. Have a good one meanwhile.

10 minute job AP?... you know you've gone and jinxed it now?

I was thinking the same Bren....I think Snoop is doing incredibly well! 42C and it's not even August yet
Not quite sure what today will bring. Nothing planned ( says she trying to ignore the 'urgent to-do list')
I know it will include not much to eat!...but that's actually not difficult in this heat!

                Time for a cuppa...kettle's on!

                • Fishing in the sunshine, what more could I want! Last time I didn't take my waders and just kept my sandals on.

I might even resort to a bit of sun cream today as its forecast to be the hottest day to date.

                  • Good morning all.
Another beautiful day here but still very breezy.
Unfortunately I have to go into town this morning to see the eye specialist.
Hopefully I will get time in the garden this afternoon.
Have a good day all and dont forget the sun cream.

                    • Decided to go swimming tomorrow instead.
So I had a jam making sesh instead( mango and rasps)... and I came across some frozen bananas so I've also made a banana and blueberry tray bake cake .
Yes....I know...it's the hottest day of the year ( so far) but it's actually cooler in the kitchen with the oven going than it is outside
As I had 32 eggs I thought at least I was using up 8 of the eggs.
Then OH came in with a basket of 6 eggs from the henhouse
                      Oh well....down to 30

I hope you haven't thrown away any of the "that's not required" stuff that was left over from the first repair AP

                        • Good afternoon warm but cloudy today and feeling very humid just a general tidyup in the garden, I have been trying out petunia wave in my baskets this year going with the info about them you don't need to deadhead them but I'm not sure that it's working the way I hoped but I will leave it for another week and then decide, right OH wants to go out for a time so catch you later

                          • Good evening all,
Not a lot done in the garden due to the heat.
                            Watered everything in the greenhouse.
Didnt get the good results I was hoping for from the eye specialist.
Back for another assessment in six weeks.
New medication so hopefully an improvement.
                            Have a good evening all,

                            • Evening!
Very hot and humid here still. It's gone up to 31C and it's half past midnight
We've been sitting watching a thunder and lightning storm for the past hour or so...amazing!...and not a drop of rain

Hoping for an early start tomorrow. Taking a leaf out of snoop's book amd going to try and get stuff done before the temperatures rise.

                              • Good evening once back home this afternoon I had a lazy day as it felt too warm to be doing any work, then after tea I decided to cut the grass got the lawnmower out and ready to go when a neighbour phoned to see if I wanted to come along for a blether well the wives blethered he and I discussed things, well off to bed as we have the boys in the morning and as it's the school holidays we will be going up to them, that way they will be in their bed Longer so in preparation for the early rise I am off to bed now. Goodnight
