Good morning very muggy here and cloudy but still dry, and seeing some of the comments re watering I am so glad that I bought an auto rewind hose reel as I can reach all of the garden with it then give it a wee chugg and it rolls in its self saves the shoulders getting sore up at my daughters watching the boys at the moment OHis at our sons watching his two also need to go and get a bag of cement to seal the slabs of my new veg bed then get it filled and that's an other couple of ton to be shifted so got a bit of work to do this evening well enjoy your day and remember try to keep cool especially you older Grapes

^That is a bit grim.

Anyway, I've just posted something else on the what makes you happy thread, so I'll just mention here that I've had a furtle among the potatoes. And yes, they are developing quite nicely. Ready in two to three weeks according to the calendar. Vitabella, they look like beauties. Not very good for my diet, though.

^^^^^ Just read an artical in the mag recommending that that's how you could pick you potatoes to increase your crop, wonder if it would work with other things

^The only problem is that I suspect the larger ones are in towards the centre and that the easiest ones to get at are small ones around the edges of the plant. I think this because the ones I came across are growing at the base of relatively young haulms.

Cloudy and cool here. Distant thunder but very unlikely to rain here, according to the forecast. Shame. A few hours of steady Lake District drizzle would suit me and the plants down to the ground.

Not much on today. Off out to an organ concert this evening. First year we went, hardly anyone attended. Last year, it was so busy we couldn't get in. So better get there early I think.

We had bacon too because my Golden Girl number three is here, she stayed last night, what a treat it was for us but sadly it may be the last time as she's seventeen next month. Looking even more like rain here now
