  • Good evening didn't get any work done in the garden today as it had been raining since 8·30 and very heavy at the moment I still need to get the soil back into the new raised bed and as I want to empty a bin of compostable material into it and my wheel barrows are sitting full of soil I will need to use a couple of buckets to move it so will need a dry day for that as I want a good covering of soil on top of it as there is some kitchen waste among it, perhaps I will order OH to give a hand
Which reminds me of the time I got married
2 friends had been married just a few months and weeks before me, the first one said they he had told his new wife they he wanted hot water for washing himself when home from work and then the dinner on the table, and it took 3 days to see a difference, my second friend said he wanted the house clean slippers at the fire and dinner on the table and again it was 3 days before he saw a difference, so when I got married I told my new wife that when I came home from work I wanted to see a clean house, my chair by a good fire a cup of tea ready for me to lift and the dinner on the table, and sure enough it was three days before I saw a difference, the swelling of my eyes was going down and I was able see out them a bit and I getting the use of my hand again so I could hold a cup

    • Mornin n'alln'all
Quite a pleasantly warm and breezy morning to wake up to!
Looks like it rained during the night so I can skip the morning watering

Off to a Vide Grenier soon...yup..jam jar hunting again.
I fancy making melon jam again. There were melons on offer the other day so I bought 5 and they are ripe enough now to use.
Now it's cooled down I have the urge to make jams and chutneys and lemon curd and bake a cake.
Maybe I'm just hungry and fixating on sugary things????

      Anyway, kettle's on!

See ya later peeps, enjoy your Sunday.

      • Morning all, my runners were lovely last night.
What a dull day today, same as yesterday
Don’t they know I have washing to do?
Not much going on today, which is nice
        Have a good day folks

        • Morning all. Just had my morning cuppa. Now waiting on coffee. In fact, might go and chivvy Mr Snoop, as he's much better than me at making coffee. Chilly enough out there to have a really nice milky one too.

Very windy out there. Will be getting water up from the well, so will make sure all the plants have plenty to cope with the conditions. Temperature has dropped a quite bit (due to be around 30 ºC) and very bright.

Not much else to report. Went to a brilliant organ and choir concert last night. Busy day ahead.

          Have a lovely Sunday, everyone.

            • Good morning all.
              Another sunny morning.
Off to church and then to a garden centre.
              Have a good day all.

              • Good evening dull and clammy here all day today watered the greenhouse and fed my basket plants this morning before going to church there must have been heavy rain overnight as the baskets look a bit battered, after church we went to a GC for coffee than when back home and as it was dry I got out and finished my raised bed got rid of the full brown bin of compost and now left with a quarter bin of soil which I will use up somewhere now going out to pot up some fuchsia

                • As we were out and about this afternoon, popped into Homebase.
They were selling off all their bedding plants for half price,
Bought bedding begonias, dianthus and dwarf dahlias.
Really pleased with my purchases as I wasnt really looking for anything in particular.
That's my jobs for tomorrow sorted,

Late start and nipping off to market. Not the usual one and it's located in and around a huge medieval market place.

                      • Morning, all.

Bit of a funny start to the day. But watering done and supposedly settling down to work but too fidgety and agitated. Ah well. Needs must. Deadlines and all...

                        Have a good day, everyone.

                        • Good morning at my daughters watching the boys who are still in bed and as it is heavy rain just now I might let them lie in till about half four, their dad will be in about five, bramble, I hope its dry enough for you so that you get your plants in, the surprise bargains are always the best, and Snoop I do hope you settle down, I don't like days like that when you are feeling all agitated and on edge, though those days for me are usually brought on when I think OH will be asking me to do something like housework or spend money, now that does lead to me feeling anxious. Well enjoy your day folks whatever you are doing and whatever the weather

                            • Good evening all.
No rain here although it got very dull.
Planted out the dwarf dshlias I bought yesterday.
                              Watered everything in the greenhouse.
                              Dead headed the sweetpeas.
My son and his daughter called unexpectedly so that put an end to the gardening.
Hopefully, I will get the rest planted up tomorrow.

Yes Rary, cant resist a bargain, with an eye to overwintering the dahlias for next season.

                              • Evening All.
Bramble, my Homebase is closing down in a couple of weeks and they're selling everything off. The plants went weeks ago and there's very little left of interest, unless you're looking for tiles, doorknobs and paint. I did pop in this morning to check.

I was on the way back from the Vet's, where Ted has been all day - being castrated and having stitches in his lower eyelid after a disagreement with his brother, Spud, on Friday. Spud had a cut on his leg but that healed over without treatment.

Ted's home now, looking very sorry for himself - with a shaved eye and wearing a baby-grow thingy. He has to wear a Buster collar too when he's wandering around to protect his eye!
I've had to tell Spud not to laugh as it will be his turn next.
