  • Good morning,

Off to the allotment this afternoon. Got a lot of things to catch up with down there. So if it's raining or not I will be down there.

    Have a good day

      • Good afternoon warm with heavy showers today, was out doing some weeding when it started to rain and buy the time I got in the house I was soaked just hope it dries up a bit, thanks for the compliments Snoop and bramble, just sorry I never took a photo before the heavy rain, and interesting to read that FF is going to Bakewell for all that I have seen Bakewell tarts in shops etc. I never really associated it with an actual place and of course must be quite old as FF likes to walk round the graveyard (which I do also occasionally) as most of the good architecture is pre war and I would recommend the Acropolis in Glasgow for an interesting day out, it gives you a good walk interesting structures to look at and costs nothing I like that right OH wants to go visit a friend so need to finish

        • ^^What a lovely man Mr Bramble is. Hope you both have a great day.

^And Rary, I would never associate the Bakewell tarts you see in shops with the puddings you buy in Bakewell: http://www.bloomersofbakewell.co.uk/...ings-vs-tarts/

Mind you, I've learned a thing. I always thought it was raspberry jam, not strawberry. So what do I know? Not much, except that I don't like Bakewell tarts and I do love Bakewell pudding.

              The restaurent is lovely too!

And yes...I'm very hungry after my swim.* tries very, very hard not to drool...

Had the outdoor area to myself for an hour ...just me a my personal lifeguard who was shivering away as it was only 20C
The water was lovely and warm -absolutely wonderful!
Funny how the French disappear between 12-2 to eat together. Best time to shop and swim
Is it like that in Spain too Snoop?

Come on Flo...did you buy a Bakewell pudding...and if so, from which shop??

              • ^Between 2 and 4, in some towns a bit earlier, in others a bit later. But here's the thing, some shops have started staying open at lunchtime and even on Sunday morning. I never thought I'd see that here. Most people are at home having lunch then so our shopping experience is much improved, as Mr Snoop isn't very good in a queue...

Edited to say: I've just had a look at your Bakewell pudding shop website and had a look round the town on Google. Wish I hadn't done that... It's all different. Tabwell Tools isn't where it used to be, so my memories of of looking at all the Arkansas whetstones are all in the ether now, as they're not where they used to be. And Brocklehursts doesn't look to be in the same place. I guess all the 'old' shops I remember moved out of their prime locations to make some money by selling up to the Edinburgh Wool Centre (of all things) and Millets and kebab shops... Very odd.

                • It stayed bright long enough for me to go and do some food shopping in town, call at allotment, cut a beech hedge down the side of my garden, cut a privet hedge at the side of the house.

My dodgy knees precluded any more outdoor work for today, so after walking dog, retired indoors to read a book and play on the laptop.

                  Have a good day.

Just trying to work out what to do today.
Got stonks of ironing of bedding to plough through, but really, really don't want to do it.
It's raining, so gardening is out.....
Maybe I should look at my 'desperately needs doing' list which I've been ignoring?

Sounds like you had fun yesterday Flo....

Anyway, lots of work to get through again. Catch you later. Have a good one meanwhile.

                            • Good morning all.
Well the bank holiday is behind us now so back to humdrum.
Think it's a missed mop day for me with a bit of gardening thrown in.
Also some ironing waiting so should really get that out of the way.
Have a good day whatever you're doing.
Sunny and dry here so that's a good start,

                              • morning all,

lovely day here so far and better half has a load of washing out on the line. I've been out and taken my car to the garage. It didn't really behave itself while we were away last week juddering when I put the foot down and it was absolutely perfect on the way to the garage.

Anyway, feet up and I dozed off while typing this
