        • Good morning all.
A dull start to the day with the promise of sunshine later.
          Today I am doing nothing.
          Have a good day.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

          • Afternoon, everyone.

Finished planting out the autumn and winter brassicas yesterday evening. All looking fine and dandy. So that's good news. Calçots still to go in, but the beds need quite a bit of attention, so they'll have to wait a few days. One more long bed and another very short bed to get ready for autumn goodies and then that's pretty well it for the year. Oh, onions and garlic to go in the beds currently occupied by the potatoes. Mustn't forget them. Quite pleased with this year's efforts, all in all.

A bit of paid work calls now before lunch, all of it from the veg patch (apart from the ham and cheese).

Have a lovely Sunday afternoon, everyone.

Really hot out there, so have retreated inside for the shade - I'm not doing much either

Enjoy your day whatever you're up to

              • Morning all,

Goodness Nicos, even thinking about ironing gives me the groo but having said that I've been ironing myself this morning. I'll rephrase that, I've ironed a couple of shirts myself this morning. Looked for a mo as though I was trying to flatten myself .

98.8°f in the greenhouse earlier and that with the roof vents open , Doors now opened.

Every time I've been to the plot recently I've been eaten alive (well bitten at least) by voracious insects. Really is a pain. Tube of Anthisan almost done so I'll have to invest in another.

I thought ants flew in Early July
Managed to go swimming after all! feeling exhausted now...and nothing to show for it

                      • Watered the garden and greenhouse first thing this morning then off to church, after church we just had a lazy day as it was to warm to be sitting in a car though I did get my onions set up in the greenhouse to dry went up to see our youngest grandson as its his birthday today then back home for tea which included roast veg and all from the garden had been to a GC yesterday where they sold home grown veg and when I saw the price they were charging I told my OH that I would only charge her half that price, I am still waiting on an answer but from the look I got I don't think she agrees with it, well enjoy you week and your gardening and keep a smile close at hand, oh and congratulations LD on 52 years. Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Spent Another lovely evening sitting under the stars keeping warm by the firepit.
I had popped a pan of popcorn to munch on too, so it was good fun!
We have heavy mist at the moment, but the promise of another lovely day ahead.

Must phone my mom this morning...she's 92 today! We're taking her out for a belated burpday lunch when we go over next month.
How old was your grandson rary?....hope he had a lovely day!

I was looking at the cost of a very sad looking cauli in the shops on Saturday...almost £4 (And not a broccoli in site.) deffo a shortage here! So much for my riced cauli etc etc as part of my diet! (I can't grow them...they burst into flower before they get to tennis ball size
So...anyone fancy a nice cuppa to start the day?...kettle's on!

                          • ^I think it was probably all the money we spent on winter veg (especially cauliflowers) the last couple of years that changed Mr Snoop's mind about whether it was worthwhile having a veg patch. I've never had any success with summer caulis, though.

Chilly start to the day but has warmed up now. Noticed a couple of toms that look like they've suffered a bit with cold, but that seems very early.

Watering rounds now taking a long time, what with all the brassicas in. So long as they survive, it'll all seem worth it. Some doubt as to what the weather will be like this week. Thunderstorms forecast tomorrow by state weather agency but everyone else says the rain will pass us by here. Shame.

So, on with the day. Hope you all have a good one.
