Afternoon all!

Spending the day sitting in the greenhouse with my book and endless cups of tea, I didn't sleep very well last night for some reason, so having a lazy day - hoping for better tonight Just popped in for a quick catch-up.

I do miss the deleted minor rant thread. In this case: news that we're forecast a low of just 4 ºC some time at the weekend. Not good. We haven't eaten enough tomatoes yet.

Good evening, a rather wet morning and apparently there was some extreamly heavy rain through the night though I didn't hear it, when OH told me about it I said when you have a clear conscience you can sleep all night, the answer I got was no it because you are !!!!!!!!!! deaf (I missed some of the words) and there is no one snoring beside you, we were keeping our daughters dog overnight but I am quite sure she wasn't snoring, anyway she is not allowed in the bedroom rain stopped as we were going to church and has stayed off since, one other thing I am pleased about is the pain in my knee has cleared up thankfully, well going out to feed my flower baskets now, so catch you later

Diet on hold yesterday for me too NS. I had a full English breakfast yesterday afternoon!
Having said that, I actually hit my 'for now' target weight on Saturday and Sunday before my deadline of today.
So I'm happy to have eaten those things.Absolutely delish! Mmmmm.
We break it because we have a social life...it's just a matter of not going overboard eh?
This week I'm maintaining then we'll see.
I still have plenty to loose

Glad to hear your knee is improved rary -must have been frustrating. At least you can get on with the ironing etc again now! And yes...I'm sure I could hear your snoring too last night?

Yesterday I took my OH out for an outing. He's had Shingles so kept himself in isolation for the past 2weeks. It was lovely and sunny so we went round a Vide Grenier.
I bought jam jars, a cabinate and a 6ft Xmas tree made from pallets to hang my felt decorations on at my Xmas Fair stalls. He had promised to make me one so doesn't need to now!! All for less than £15.
The cabinate is a very old food store. It's for doing up and using as a TV stand.

A great outing!

More domestics and ironing today , then a friend over for supper. Hopefully not a late night as I'm exhausted!

Work this morning as a volunteer has a hospital appointment
Weather is blue skies at the moment, may not last

Managed to get a Doctors appointment for tomorrow so taking it easy today. Its annoying as I have a wrought iron gate I am making set up ready to start welding on an 8 x 4 table I made especially for this purpose. Rain is forecast so metal will rust but I would rather not dis-assemble it as it took ages to set up.

OH is in hospital so I need to visit her 25 miles away at 1.00pm and its not worth getting into dirty welding togs then back into civvy street togs for visit anyway.

Never mind, these things are sent to try us and tomorrow is another day.

I might have a go at making some chutney this morning with my beetroot,onion,tomato and courgette glut..

Day started well. A bit cloudy but drew water up from the well and doused down a couple of rock hard beds to make them easier to work. This well is a marvel. Don't think anyone else in the municipality has water in their well. Just hope we get decent rains this autumn and next spring to replenish the underground supply.

Then I turned on the computer and looked at the news, which rather put the kibosh on my jolly mood. Nothing good anywhere in the world.

Congrats on the diets, NS and Nicos. Me, I'm going very slowly, but at least it's in the right direction.

Good day grapes,been a nice dry day here,been busy,down the plot,weeding,harvesting,prep and freezing,salad spuds,beetroot,beans,toms,yes some have gone red,carrots,am now on the first coat of emulsion,gawd it is tireing,needs must,this is the worst slog on deorating here,as it has a 7.5 mt long hall and 14 stairs,with doors off,and they need painting all 9 of em,a little roller works brill,the other rooms will be a doddle,yesterday dinner was an assortment of home grown veg roasted in toven,it was very filling and tasty,tonight is home grown kale,spuds and 2 types of beans,with fish,not out our pond i might add,have a good evening,hiho,hiho of to work i go,determined to get the first coat finished tonight.

Thanks Bramble. We thought we had lost her for a while (she was unconscious for two days) and the family were told to expect the worst.
Luckily she's a tough auld bird and has pulled round. Hope to get her home by the weekend.
