Good afternoon, breezy but dry just now had some light showers this morning, and when out with the dog the ground is soaking also when I got out of bed this morning the heating was on, its set for18c so dear knows what the temperature was overnight, OH was complaining about the cold last night so I made some suggestions on how to warm ourselves, which I added would cut down our carbon footprint, but as she explained where her footprint would be, I put the heating on, I sowed some seeds a couple of weeks or so ago and they were moving quite well but they now look as if they have stalled so might need to cover them with some fleece and though I think it's a bit early doing this in September the trees are definitely in shutdown mode as a lot of the leaves have turned so think we are for a long cold winter. Ah well I suppose greater opportunity for alternative heating arrangments one can always live in hope

Evening all,

Didn't do too much this forenoon other than water the greenhouses and tie some onions ready to take to a show tomorrow. A shopping expedition for groceries in the afternoon and that was today. Fairly flew past.

Morning, FF. Very cold last night but sunny again now. No time to go and check the veg patch as I've got a ton of work to get through this morning. Watering will just have to wait, unless I can persuade Mr Snoop to do it for me... Now there's an idea.

After a very cold night we have sunshine!
Massive choice of things on my 'to do' list.
The one I really fancy doing is making some space in my freezer using up some frozen mangoes I bought at a rediculously silly low price. Mango chutney me thinks
The dreaded 'I' pile keeps waving at me but I've so far managed to scoot around the other side of the room with my head turned away. Works a treat
Had to put the heating on last night-even Hibou wouldn't go outside!

Morning all, our heating came on this morning, mind you, we have it set at 21.
Went to Daughters yesterday, spent time with the GG, hubby did her lawn and tall hedges
Also went out to dinner at the Spoons. Hubby has worked out how cheap it is lol
Definitely not diet food Nicos.
Another day off today and house chores are in order

Very breezy and looking a bit grey.
Off to the hairdressers shortly.
Packing is done so house cleaning this afternoon.
Two of my grandkids are coming for dinner as their parents are away.
One of my other granddaughters is going to a debs and looking so grown up at just 16.

Mornings!

Really chilly this morning - down to 6C overnight INSIDE the greenhouse. Gonna be a long winter if this weather carries on. Might even put the heating on! Why does 18C outside feel warm but 18C indoors feel chilly? and yes, I have put socks and cardi on...

With gluts being harvested, it's clearly time for chutney and passata making, but I'm really not in the mood (thinking of the mess you have clear up afterwards )

Afternoon all,my word what a weather change,have put heating on and woolies on,hope i get warmed up soon,feel shivery,feels like autumn now and windy,am getting a bit bothered,not got my renewed driving licence back yet,if not soon,i will be off the road,what on earth are they playing at,them hens are funny,1 has gone broody,i keep chuckin her out,i am having to look around for eggs elsewhere as a result,cought i laying amongst the carrot foliage,could hear the noises,but hard to track down bless her,will have to put the separate coop in the fenced of area,for them,shiver shiver my hands have gone achy cold,hot water bottle me thinks or get under me throw and have a snooze,need to get warmed up before i even look at the paint,bloomin nora,it's chuckin it down outside,catch you laters,Bgood2yrselves.

just listening to the 7am bells from both churches in the valley. Some days the sound quietly rolls around in a sort of echo. Lovely!

Hibou has just given me my freshly caught breakfast and promptly fell asleep.

I managed to bake four large fruit cakes for my kids yesterday and a batch of mango chutney for Xmas.

I got cold feet in the house yesterday (stone floor) so I need to hunt out my slippers. That really will feel like winter has set in!
The nice thing about the nights quite clearly drawing in is that we lit the church candles dotted around the house. It looked wonderful

Tis the 'Big I' Day today...it's started creeping along the floor. Maybe if I leave it long enough it'll disappear out of the house ?

Time for a brew me thinks...
