  • Mornin n'alln'all
    Lovely and sunny today.
Deffo a gardening day...it's just a matter of where to start
Got a plan...will do a bit of pottering out there until I get distracted on one thing.

Our bitof news is that we soft released the larger of our 3 rescue hedgehogs last night.
It's taken itself back into the box/nest it has been sleeping in for the past 3nights, but only eaten about 1/3 of the food we'd left out, so must have tucked into insects in the garden
We'll leave food and water out for the next few nights ,then ask the friend (who is looking after Hibou, hens and quail) to do the same.
Sorry-we didn't take any piccies as whenever they spotted/heard us they curled up!
The other 2 are now being cared for by a friend who will probably be slow releasing those within the month. It's a lovely feeling to have helped them to survive.

Ok...time or a cuppa and some toast. We bought a large chunk of honeycomb last weekend and the flavour is wonderful-really nutty! Mmmm....
See ya later perks, enjoy your day!

I'm a shorts wearer, LD. No chance of me going about in a short skirt (less still a pelmet, obviously!). But it reminded me of the line "Her skirt is short but Lord her legs are sturdy" in this Stevie Wonder song, which Mr Snoop is now going about singing to himself:

Bound to get your feet tapping on this Saturday morning.

Not much news. Didn't get much of what I planned to do done yesterday, but it was still a relatively productive day. Bit more rain in the night. People further south have really suffered (120 litres per square metre in two hours in some places, over 400 litres in 48 hours elsewhere). Everybody round here wants rain, but none of us want that much in so short a period of time. That's a devastating volume of rain, especially in built-up areas.

So today's plans are bit of work, write a couple of bills, make a cake in the pressure cooker (seeing as the cheesecake was a success, thought I'd try another experiment), make bread (not in the pressure cooker) and get rid of a bit more paperwork (hate the task, love the results). Was hoping to do some gardening but the ground is too soft. Better get on with it all.

        Have a good one, everyone.

          • Wild and windy up here and so's the weather...……………………….had a day wandering round garden centres looking for bargains(none found) and advice for new apple trees, one GC was most helpful with ideas for eaters, just need to find the right cooker now, then they will order for me.

                • Morning all. Spent too much time yesterday having fun, so got to get on it today.

Some conclusions from yesterday's cooking: spelt bread will take getting used to and the apple pressure cooker pudding is OK but not as good as the cheesecake. Mr Snoop is eating it gladly, though. Yogurt not yet finished, but I imagine will be delicious (goat's milk - yum).

Paid work and paperwork take priority today. Boring...

                  Have a good day, everyone.

Absolutely gorgeous here as well, breakfast in the greenhouse Today was meant to be a painting day (I'm wearing my painting clothes IYKWIM ) but keep sneaking outside for 'a coffee break' so maybe won't get much done inside after all Carpe diem...

                    Enjoy your day!

                    • Lovely weather here too!
Just picking the last of the green tomatoes as I doubt they'll last outside for another couple of weeks.

                        • A lot more Pink footed Geese going over, Autumn has well and truly arrived up here now, mists and roaring stags in the next few weeks probably and most of the summer visitors have now gone. Trees turning to their glorious colours, I do like the smell of autumn in the forest, pity I don't like the mushrooms.

Looks like I've a pile of watering to do before we leave for the uk tomorrow. 29C forecast here over the coming weekend

Busy day ahead, but going to start with a brew.
                              Anyone care to join me?

                              • Sympathy like, Atta. We really could do with the minor rant thread at times.

Bright here. Temperatures supposed to rise again this week. Only minor probability of rain this week. Shame, I'll have to start watering again. Saves me a heck of a lot of time when the weather is damp. Still, the solar panels will be doing their thing.

Busy work day ahead, so better get on with it.

                                Have a good one everyone.
