  • Mornings!

Dry, calm and cloudy here, no rain atm. One of those shall I, shan't I? days with the washing..
Back to low carbing here - always seems a little easier for me, than actually calorie counting. I just fill the plate with salad or veg and don't notice the difference (except I do miss my bread and making it, family rituals are hardest to give up )

      • Morning everyone. Good luck with the diets/low-carbing everyone. Me, I'm back to the UK at the end of the week for two weeks, so I'm going gangbusters filling the freezer for Mr Snoop. Been eating rather too much recently.

Anyway, breezy again today. And bright too. Tiny amount of rain forecast for two weeks' time. It all seems to be going north of us. And neither sight nor sound of the builder either. Gah, gah and double gah.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

        • Good morning all.
          Dull and grey.
Off to a neighbours funeral and then grocery shopping.
It doesn't get any better than that on a Monday.
          Have a good day all.

          • Morning all (just). Strong wind blowing all night and only very recently quietened down. Hope we're not just in the eye of the storm .

Slobbed about doing nowt yesterday. Weather was awful then as well and must be the first time for years and years that neither of us ventured outdoors at all. Had to put the recycling bin out early doors this morning though so no chance of a repeat.

Still not doing owt though. Must be my age catching up with me.

            • Good afternoon, wet and windy today though did get it dry when I took the dog out, now can't get anything done, nothing to do with age, it's because of the weather, sitting reading though OH has put the TV on and it's a programme for women no objections to that but need to move as I can't stand all the screeming a cheering that goes on withe it, enjoy your day I am off to try and book a hotel in the Lake District, so catch you later
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

We had a wee break in the Lake District a few years back not long after the catastrophic flooding. I remember standing on a pier on Windermere where they had marked the highest level of the floodwater and it was 15ft or so higher than the normal level. Given the size of Windermere,(5.7squ miles or so) that is an unbelievable amount of extra water. We also visited Cockermouth which had been badly affected. There have been works completed there to help prevent future problems but when mother nature takes over, it doesn't matter what we do.

Enjoy your break there Rary, it's a lovely part of the world.

                          • Mornings!

Weather this morning is the same as yesterday - calm but cloudy, no sign of brightness - if there is I'll escape to the garden. As it is it looks like more emulsioning for me, but fed up with now, it's taking too long, so many coats ....

Hope your weather is better than mine, have a good'un

Well, I'm glad some of you have some nice weather....I've got all the rubbish stuff going in here!...even Hibou has hunkered down indoors voluntarily!
Ronnovations postponed to tomorrow now...OH also feeling under the weather still with this cold, so we'll just run through electrical stuff relocation , DIY shopping lists etc ...things you can do inside a centrally heated room without inhailing plaster dust etc!!

Diet did start however...it needed to!....How can anyone manage to put on half a stone in 2 weeks? (clearly skill and expertise gained over many years eh?)

                                Happy Tuesday peeps...enjoy your day!
