  • Evening all,

Burnies said baltic and boy was he right . It's been really cold but dry here all day and I managed to get a load of washing out and dried. Also managed to get a final grass cut for the year done and the cuttings in to the organic waste skip at the local recycling centre. First time the grass has been dry enough to cut for a while. I also took my secateurs and pruned our lovely ceanothus . One of my favourite shrubs and it performs every year.

Her ladyship is making the tea tonight so I'm taking advantage and having a catch up on here

    • My OH has just cut the garden/field. Took him a couple of hours and it was still pretty soggy underfoot. But it's still growing!
18C here today, but getting chilly again in the evenings.

      Clocks back tonight!

        • Good evening, had a lazy morning then we had to go out for a coffee, we still had to get this month's free cup while out I bought a bag of nuts and bird seed the seed is no mess but was wondering if a short blast in the microwave would make it no grow or would it possibley take out some of the substance that the birds need, thinking on this I will post a thread for the answer, once back home I was in the greenhouse for a time installing some new lighting as it will be needed shortly with the clock going back tonight, now I am off to read a book as I have aquiered a book on square foot gardening, need to see if I can use this system as my foot isn't square but it is flat. Well enjoy your evening before I do anything I'm going to watch Landward as I have been told there is a bit about White Laggan bothy, a place I visited a lot when hill walking, wish I could still do that, however I am pain free so grateful for that
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

          • Mornin n'alln'all
Been awake for hours...so much for putting the clocks back and gaining an hours sleep
If it's any consolation AP we're forecast max of 9 C today and rain... you can have the sunshine if you want it?

I've just been looking at the White Lagan Bothy on YouTube rary...has it changed much since you were there? I see it was renovated a while back. Stunning location!

Time for a brew methinks...breakfast trays for everyone this morning?
I'm seriously thinking of having porridge this morning.
My daughter has 2bee hives in her apple orchard and she gave me a pot of honey. Yum.

See ya later peeps-anyone behaving their gardens/allotments today?

              • Mornings,
I always behave on my allotment Nicos, except when no one is looking. Then if I'm feeling really naughty.....

I might use a some weedkiller, or sow some wildflowers along the fenceline

Drier and brighter this morning - but it's colder at only 6C atm, so doubt I'll be gardening at all today, probs just wrap up and go for a wander round the plots, see what people are complaining about this week..
                Have a good'un

                • Good morning all.
                  It's a beautiful sunny morning.
Watching some type of a marathon on the beach with all kind of obstacles thrown in.
I'm sure I will find out the name of it later.
The place is packed with spectators and there is a real buzz about it all.
Have a good day whatever you're doing.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • Afternoon (old money and new money time). Hope you're all doing well.

Very lazy morning again, but we've got some lads felling some of our dead almonds and turning them into logs, so they're being busy on my behalf.

This afternoon, we're due to get a visit from the builder... Nice man but a hopeless, hopeless planner. Anyway, no point getting in a temper.

Catch you later. Have a good one meanwhile.

I'm feeling really guilty cos I've stayed indoors! My poor hazelnuts will be floating their way into the house at this rate!
It's times like this I know for sure I'm deffo becoming a fair weather gardener.
Still, the positive side is that I've finally started packaging seeds for the flower circle!

                            • Evening all, well we have had a glorious sunny day in Perth, went to see our daughters family, the boys have a new trampoline to show off. The farmers were lifting tatties into the dark as we drove home through Coupar Angus and Forfar, I was looking for snow on the hills, but none on view yet, I have some new crampons I want to try out(yes I know my better half thinks I'm bonkers too)

We spent the afternoon watching the " challenge yourself" marathon on the beach.
Such a tough course, obstacles and having to run in the sand.
1500 competitors but what a great show of strength.
                                Have a good evening all
