After another good night's sleep, I'm deep in fondant flowers this morning, can't make up my mind whether to make an almond, orange or plain vanilla cake ….. I need another cup of tea, obviously

    Have a good'un

      • Good morning all.
        Another beautiful sunny morning.
Bank holiday here today as well.
        Off out shortly.
        Enjoy your day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

          • Thanks for finding the cake recipe, TS. I will have a bash at that perhaps next weekend (no chocolate in the house now). I'm up for making ginger snaps and jam tarts this weekend.

Cloudy out today. And cloudy in my head too - the builder has let us down big time...

Public holiday here too. Shame that I've still got loads of work to get through.

Catch you later, guys. Have a good one meanwhile.

            • Morning, well the rugby match was a good one, Wales just not able to get through New Zealand's defence often enough. Proper dreich today, no plans for getting wet out there today.

              • Morning all, dreich here today and it was wet overnight . My task today which I thought would take me an age and would be very fiddly - putting the new carburettor for my rotavator together - took me less than 5 minutes. I thought it would take longer because there seemed to be loads of bits and pieces in the packaging but taking out the gaskets and the fixing studs revealed there were two sets of bits, one lot which were for my machine and another set which must be for a machine using the same engine and carb but needing a different level of power(or something like that). Anyway, job done and I'm on the vine . Rotavator will be reassembled when I'm next at the plot.

Yup, that is the recipe..it's brill
I have made double quantities before but it doesn't go solid enough if it's too thick

I really fancy making a rice pudding but I've no pudding rice. Might just make it with long grain instead...

By heck, it really feels like I need some good heavy stodgy winterwarming nosh today

Just found a packet of rice pudding
Cooking in the oven as we speak...along with the hotpot.
It's just the weather for some fresh beetroot and , as it's paused in the sploshy department , I think I'll go and pull some beetroot ( one of the advantages of growing in your garden eh?)

Rary, I know you've been asking everyone to send you cakes and I thought you wanted to eat them - not wear them on your head!
A Scone for a bonnet. You really do have some strange habits

Might as well pop the kettle on at the same time -breakfast in bed anyone?
