Mornin n'alln'all
....and yet even more sploshy stuff.....
I really should think of more ways of saving more of this for next summer.
More sewing for me today. I suppose I should be pleased it's raining again, so I'm not tempted to garden. It does make me realise how lucky some of you are to have greenhouses/polytunnels/potting sheds!
Enjoy your day peeps see ya later!
"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Morning no rain for us until late afternoon enjoy your fishing Burnie hope you get your fish. No real plans here today apart from wanting to make a couple of birthday cards.
That's a lovely cake Thelma its going to make someones very happy.
Squally weather here. Went out to feed the dogs and got caught in a downpour that came out of nowhere. Like being on a seafront. Blowing a gale too.
Plenty to do today. Didn't do enough yesterday... Got a bit distracted by a whole gang of people saying they'd be descending on us for my 60th. And there was me thinking we'd either go out, just the two of us, or eat in, something really extravagant but next to no effort. Now I'm cooking for ten for three days... Just hope they do the washing-up (no dishwasher except Mr Snoop). It'll be lovely to see them all, but I think I'll have 'my' birthday dinner another day! I've come up with a food plan, a fair amount of which can be cooked in advance and frozen. But I'll be picking people's brains about freezing cake. There's one I really like (in a Two Fat Ladies recipe book) that's essentially a buttery batter with walnuts, prunes and apples. I'm hoping that will freeze OK.
Better get on with the show, as clients will be complaining tomorrow if I don't get my skates on.
Mornings!
Thanks for all the cake likes, I've been given a piece to try with my coffee this morning, and people want the recipe, so it must have been ok The thing I always dread, is giving a cake I can see looks good enough (for an amateur) but inside is a disaster. You just never really know .…..
It's milder. calmer and dry, so far today, but the ground is sodden - so just greenhouse pottering for me....
Just remembered I need to visit the plots, to see what's what -as we have November's inspections on Wednesday. Gulp! better get a move on >>>>>>
Good mornig all.
The sun is still shining where we are.
Off out for the day shortly and will take in the church while out and about.
Have a good day all.

OMG, on a Sunday???? I echo the sentiment mind but not because the rain has stopped, it's been chucking it down all flemmin night. I want to get outside and get things done but no pleasure in it in that weather.
It was warm enough in the sun, earlier on the plots, to take off my cardi,
I cut down all the Cosmos some of it was as tall as me! and cut the very last Dahlia flowers. A few top leaves were frosted, so I really don't thnk any more buds will open, but have left them there for now. Came home with a cabbage and a small squash I'd missed.
At home I took the begonias out of the big tubs by the front door (I even remembered to label them!) planted a mix of purple tulip bulbs and covered them with wire mesh against the squirrels. Doesn't look pretty, but needs must...
Enjoyed my coffee and sandwich lunch in the greenhouse, 26C in there
The clouds have come back again now though, so cardi back on and came indoors. It was nice while it lasted though
Good evening, started with a bit of rain this morning, but after church it was dull but dry so after lunch I spent some time in the garden, I removed some soil from one of my raised flower beds I used the soil to fill some more air pots this time planted with apple trees, I then emptied a load of stuff from the compost bin covered with several layers of newspaper then the contents of some hanging baskets then planted wallflower into it, well hope the weather stays reasonable this week and you all manage to get some gardening done. Goodnight
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
Member of the Nutters Club but I think I am just there to make up the numbers
Rary, have you bought some new apple trees or are these some that are ready established.
I would be interested if they are growing in containers as I don t have a lot of space.
Perhaps you might give me a little more I formation as to type, variety and root stock.
Also where you purchased them if it's not too much trouble.
