What makes some people think that blowing up, shooting and injuring others is a solution to anything?

Jim’s leaving Beechgrave Garden..........nooooooooo!
Thank you to one of the most down to earth, non tech term tv growers on the screen.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

I either need to rant or burst into tears. Since I've still got shedloads to do, despite really wanting to do the latter, I'm going to do the former in the hope it gets it out of my system.
I'm exhausted. For the last week or so I've been doing a lot of physical stuff in the garden. Today was supposed to be the day my polytunnel went up. I've got the frame up and I've got a load of breeze blocks to raise it up onto, but nothing is *just* working.
The polytunnel frame has spent the last few years in someone's garage and it's bent and rusty now. So after fighting with bits that no longer lined up properly, I finally got it up but now I need to do another job of trying to get the rust off.
The slabbed area the blocks are sitting on have sunk in places so it's really hard to get the blocks level. The slabs are 3 x 2 industrial type slabs which weigh a ton. I tried to lift the worst ones to level them a bit more but they are so heavy and it's hard to hold them up whilst shovelling stuff underneath at the same time.
I'm sat here wondering why I'm trying so hard when the reality is the tunnel is wrecked, I'm not going to get too long out of it and the effort is killing me in the process.
I hate being old(er). I used to be strong and able to do this kind of thing in my sleep. Now I can hardly stand up straight after only a short time. I'm fed up. Very very fed up. I'm also fed up of envying others who have lots of pairs of extra hands to help. I am feeling soooo sorry for myself today.
And breathe.......

Blooming petrol stimmer only fires up when there's no line in it.
As soon as I feed some line in it refuses to start. AAAAaarrrghh.
If it keeps up this game I may have to video it interacting with a sledgehammer...sigpic

As rants go I am really, really mad. I feel that a mobile phone company has taken advantage of one of my elderly and not technical savvy relatives. I don't know all the details yet but I think that any company that takes advantage of a deaf nearly 90 year old who goes into their shop with a mobile that isn't hers saying that it is her brothers and isn't working properly and comes out with it on a contract for a year in her name has been taken advantage of. In my opinion taking advantage of older, non computer literate people is disgusting. The disgusting adverts on daytime television wind me up and I find the so called celebrities who try to rip them off beyond the pale. OMG I am really on my high horse now.

Worth asking?
My Rant - that I'm forced to post on the Rant thread (or be accused of chatting by those Mods) as its against my principles to rant.

Spending 9 hours in the hospital, 9:00 appointment got seen at 10:15 by doctor who wanted Blood Test which I could had done the day before but they would not let me so a 2 hour wait for the results to come back, possibility of being taken in for IV, then they wanted an scan but X-Ray dept could not do what they wanted so walk back to AEU unit at the other side of the hospital to let them know as no one would pick the phone up. Saw doctor he arranged x-rays so walk back to the other end of the hospital then back again and after another couple of hours an orthopaedic surgeon review to see if the lump on my leg needed lancing. When he finally arrived he said no to cutting me open which I'm glad about and also no to more antibiotics and to review if there is any reduction of the lump on Monday so I have arranged with AEU to go and give blood Sunday so I don't have another 9 hour day and waiting for 2 hours for bloods to come back before they put me back in the queue to see a doctor to get a determination of what they are going to do next. #NHSLife

Knock on my door this morning from next door neighbour. My beautiful cherry tree is now in her garden. The wind brought it down last night. Something woke me at about 2.30 am and I couldnt work out what it was. Id just taken photos of the garden when ndn turned up but didnt see the damage as the lilac was in the way. I do have 2 more cherries. Ive only recently had them checked over and pruned."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
