            This picture was taken early hours of Thursday, about 3am, near to Gatwick airport. Temperature at that point was -5 C. By the time I'd driven across the North Downs hour or so later the temperature gauge showed -8 C !!

            Still, the coldest I've ever known it round here was set last year during the Beast from the East phenomenon, when on the 27th Feb the temperature had dropped to -12 C by 11pm that night. Driving along the A22 Caterham bypass was interesting to say the least. Ice rink came to mind. Pretty though in the moonlight
