  • Apps.......

I’ve been mooching through the apps available for my phone.
The garden one I like is Veggiegarden.
It’s simple which for my brain cell is a bonus.
    Anyone have further suggestions?
    I won’t pay so freebies a bonus.
Off to have a go with my ‘how to play the piano’ now as I feel a chopstick moment coming on.

    P.S.....
Although the app was free I have just paid 1.99 to unlock all of the veggies as, after having a longer read I decided that with my very limited space having something that tells me what are good and bad companions was a good idea.

Sorry I cant help you Lumpy as I never use apps, but when I first looked at your post a cold shiver went down my spine, as I thought that there was an app for veggiechicken But hope you will let us know if the app is any good or not, and as its free, its one I maybe able to afford
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Rary, you are such a tease. I searched in the App Store under ‘chicken’ and my brain now boggles.
So hoot toob was next and that matters worse.
Returning to the app. It seems OK for tiny shove it in where you can growers like me but for the landed gentry (those with lotties, big gardens and fields) I’m not so sure. It does have a planner section but I think money is required.

I downloaded quite a few when I first got my tablet. Soon deleted them again because they were all cr@p compared to the fountain of knowledge that is our fellow grapes

I absolutely agree SP. This site really is the bees knees of growing.
However, sometimes a quick clue as to when, where and what next too for me allows me to try my best. I don’t always have time to search this lovely site for the answers I need in the time I have.

I use an app for android called PictureThis. You take a picture of a plant that you want to identify, and the app tells you what it could be. Very good, and free!

Plenty of recipes but not an App - which makes me Appy.

If an App does what I think - it tells you what to do and when. No way could I accept being told what to do in that way.
Has anyone found a Random App?

I love the fact that ‘if’ you grow a fruit or veg etc no app or web site (including this wonderful site) can supply accurately all the growers needs. Area, soil, type grown, experience etc all play a part in just having a go. Any help for me is a good thing as I’m a bit thick.
I think this post may have been a mistake.

I don't think your post is a mistake. https://www.gardenfocused.co.uk isn't an app but a website. It comes close as it at least let's you select what area you're in and gives you for e.g. when the frost might come. You can chose what you're growing it'll churn out a schedule of what to do based on where you are.

Google Sheets as a free spreadsheet App. It won't tell you what to do but great for recording info on my seeds, when expiring, the price, germination temp, companion plants and I make a kind of calender with the months and when to sow, harvest etc. Actually Lumpy I'll just try and attach a readable image to show you!

I type the information like from seed packets in the boxes. Just ask Google for what I want to know, like when to sow a seed for example. Whenever I get the info online I copy the link of the website on a cell in my spreadsheet and I can click to get the information again.

Sorry about the fuzzy image. Don't know how to make it better.
