Did anyone else see this?
Ikea put two identical plants inside open glass boxes (one in each box) in lots of schools, so the experiment was replicated several times over. It was intended to educate kids about kindness / bullying and how their words can have an effect on others.
They got the kids to record themselves saying nice positive complimentary things to one of the plants and the other poor plant got told it was basically a waste of space. Needless to say one thrived and one died, or at least became very frail.
I thought this was a good way of showing something like this in a practical way so the kids could actually see the effects of their behaviour before their own eyes. I do feel very sad for the plants that got the negative comments though.
There were some views that this was faked but it seems plausible to me.
I talk to my plants all the time, even if it's just on the passing. I can justify it now.
