  • Carbon footprint et al

We are all aware of this new media hyped buzz phrase, "carbon footprint"...

Well, Shirley and I have reduced the carbon footprint of our kitchen this morning. We scraped all the burned food, soot and carbon from the sides of the oven and baking trays.

Our kitchen is now carbon neutral. Well..., until the toast gets burned again.

Seriously though I saw a programme on TV last night called Britains Biggest Wasters, or something like that anyway. Scary stuff to think that represents most of British society. I even heard on the radio this morning that one child thought lemons came from....

    ....Birmingham.

I fear for our offspring who have had the great fortune of having chooks in the past, milking goats, sleeping in the small holdings stables when they were babies (and we were cleaning out the stables not abandoning the kids!) and experiencing own grown nosh.
    Let's go diggin' dirt....

Big silver bird, come land low and slow
Cut your engines, cool your wings,
    You've taken me home...

I guess that the families shown on these various reality programs are chosen for their extreme behaviour - and their ability to induce jaw-dropping entertainment on the idiots lantern!

If the behaviour they show makes the more 'normal' peeps change their behaviour a bit, fair enough - although the danger is that it makes 'normal' families think 'oh we're not that bad!'
