Gloves for a chain saw

As has been asked above, what are you cutting with the chainsaw? Can you not use a pole hedgetrimmer?

I have an electric pole chain saw which works OK.
The Leylandi has split into a front and back section, like a Y
The branches are very thick and need a more beefy saw.
My new electric one does the job. I use the pole one for the higher bits.
I dont use the new one on any ladders.
But do use the pole one on ladders. My thought being if owt goes wrong the chain is a way offf.
I guess like someones suggestion I could just run it along the base stems (8) and have done with them for ever.

Can anyone recommend an electric saw for pruning trees.
Mains not cordless.
NOT a chain saw.
Not a pole saw.
Just a simple hand held saw.

I have NPTC chainsaw certification to process and fell trees up to one and a half times the guide bar length. I passed the training and developed a lifetime ambition to never touch one again.

FWIW, Jimmy, many of the injuries from chainsaws are from an incorrectly sharpened and maintained chain breaking. At which point the chain will pass round the nose of the guide bar and fly off at 50mph, usually in the direction of your gonads.
