Growing a World Garden

Many years ago I bought, in a cheap book shop, a box entitled "My World Garden. The origins of the World's plants and how to care for them". I was tempted because it contained "Seeds".
There's a Game to play using beans and nuts (supplied) as counters, and 2 books, one of which is "How to make a World Garden" with ideas for growing 16 different gardens. I have to say, this is for children, so there's noting too complex.
Just wondered whether anyone "themes" their beds on country lines - and how possible it would be to have a Country in a Pot.
For example, all the plants for an Indian curry or for a Mexican salsa in one pot/bed.

Any ideas for combinations - just in case I get the urge to try it!!

I am trying something similar... themed approach to what I'm growing this year, at least some of it. I've developed a real love for Mexican food and often have salsa, fajitas, burritos etc.
I go through a fair bit of salsa, so I want to grow my own!
So I'm growing:
- chillis
- peppers (if only they will germinate more reliably!)
- tomatoes
- red onion

How about making a circular or keyhole layout withe each segment representing one part of the world. Fill each segment with self sowing annuals representative of the area then seeing each year which part of the world gains dominance?

Geo politics and cultural clashes played out in the garden Jay-el! Could be interesting though.....

Maybe split it into continents, although there wouldn't be much in the Artic!!

Not much land to grow on in the arctic - unless you mean the arctic circle then there's loads of tiny ground hugging plants to use.

In the antarctic you have all the rare and exotic bacteria and fungi so that when the ice melts they reanimate wipe out the rest of the garden and take over. Of course you can have them wherever there would be permafrost

Warning..........Warning...........Warning........I’ve had a thought!

I suppose when I think about this laterally everyone’s growing space is a World Garden. Plants from all over the planet are shoved in with others from all over the planet.
Either they have adapted or we have adapted them but like the majority of this beautiful and mysterious worlds people just get on with it and rub along as best they can.
