Boots migraine relief tablets are pretty good but work best if taken at the very first sign of the trouble. Otherwise (and for the future) try growing feverfew and have a few leaves on a sandwich every day - that is supposed to keep them at bay.

Hope it comes under control soon.
    Happy Gardening,

      Ouch Headfry,

I'm afraid I can't do anything to help but I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well.

Sorry to hear about your head!

Have you tried 4head? It is a little stick that you rub over your forehead and it really helps me. Cools your ache loads. It costs about £5 but I have had mine for about 2 years and use it loads. You can take pain killers along with it if you want.

Hope you feel better soon, Mandy

              poor you!
Migraine is just hideous. I can recommend something but it might sound a bit weird!!
A couple of years back I was getting terrible migraine 2 or 3 times a week, I just felt constantly ill, either unable to see properly, throbbing head, sickness or the exhusting handover effect you get afterwards.
I learned reflexology which helped to a certain extent but never got rid of the problem, the same with reiki although both helped me to relax more a " go with the migraine" reducing the length and severity of the attacks. Then my reiki master suggested something which changed my life! This is the weird bit..... he gave me a symbol on a piece of card called a "blockbuster antakharana" it's an ancient tibetian healing symbol. I put the card under my pillow and my migaines stopped! Really it's true, in the past 2/3 years I've probably had 5 or 6 minor short lived migraines.
I know it sounds strange and you all think i'm a complete weirdo now!

Hey Lainey lou, if it works for you then I won't knock it!
Sorry to hear you're not well Headfry, I used to get really bad migraines which lasted for days & nothing really helped but I used to take 'Beecham's powders' ,put one of those eye masks which you can chill in the fridge over my eyes & lie down whenever I could somewhere quiet.Hope you're feeling better soon.

                  Poor you Headfry!

I get migraines occasionally - usually if I have succumbed and eaten chocolate! Been several years since I last had a full 'blinder', generally it's the 'nails through the head' type now.

Have you thought to ask the doctor to run an allergy test sequence on you? A high proportion of migraines are triggered by food intolerance. Not much use now I know, but might help prevent more!

Only thing I can suggest for now is colse the curtains, disconnect the phone and try to rest - if you can relax the whole thing will be over quicker.

                  Be better soon,

                  Terry

If it's definately migraine then you can't beat Syndol. Mum has migraines that literally make her throw up and these are the only drugs that help. I'm sure you know all the advice about cool flannels, dark rooms and avoiding coffee/orange/choc etc..?

The other thing is to make sure that it's not sinus problems. With the weather the way it is now a lot of people are getting sinus problems and the pain from that can be as bad as migraine..

I used to get a lot of sicky migranes and found drinking lots of tonic water helped, it has to be the full fat tonic none of that diet rubbish and unfortunatly no gin, this helps to settle your stomach and when you are not worried about being sick you relax and the headache goes as well.

I agree, I swear by tonic water for upset stomach - don't know anything about migraine thank God, but tonic water seems to cure all kinds of sickness 'specially sea sickness.
It'l be all over very soon though, I'm sure
