Seed quantity

In times past I remember seed packets had loads of seeds.
However currently suppliers only put a miserly quantity in a pack.
I guess the cost of some would be a valid reason.
But in general I think it's a ploy to make you buy more seed.
Anyone know of a supplier that still puts a proper amount in the pack.
A while ago I got some "seeds of Italy" these had a good quantity.
I got a pack of their cherry tomatoes and there were a huge quatity. They are still viable years later.
Any thoughts?

I think seed quantity in packets reduced because it became obvious that a lot were getting wasted.
Example your average packet of cabbage seeds contains 250 seeds. Who can manage to grow that many cabbage in one season? That packet will last 5 years at the very least. 10 year more realistic if the seeds are viable for that long.
Granted there are some seed varieties which a few more would be nice in a packet. But on the whole I think it's ok. And like you say there's always seeds of Italy. They have loads of seeds.

It's usually the f1 seed packets that have fewer seeds in, I find. Avoid those and they're cheaper to buy and usually have more in the packets.
