Something has went wrong, I acquired a dozen thick 3X2 concrete slabs, ideal to put round my raised beds (I have just replaced the wood on one of them so I knew that I could safely remove the old wood on the remaining beds, so got started today once home from church, now I removed one side of a bed and using a sackbarrow I moved the slabs up the first was quite simple positioned the barrow and easy to swing the slab off and into position, the second however couldn't be positioned the same so tilted it up ready to lift into position and when I went to lift it, it was heavy now I am sure that it would have been no bother just a couple of months ago but now, now I struggled a bit, I wonder if it was something I ate, or if I have had too much Sun, I will need to go and ponder this to discover what has happened, after all it seems that it was just last week that I could have more or less moved it with one hand

If I lived nearer, I'd come and move them for you.

Sounds like a temporary micro-gravity vortex developed in the near vicinity of the slab when you were trying to lift it - I get these quite often when something I use to be able to lift easily 40 years ago gets unaccountably much too heavy to pick up any more, for no apparent reason - I blame Einstein.

Nah... has it been raining recently where you are? The blocks have soaked up a load of water and are now heavier than when you bought them.

And I am going with nickdubs theory, it's a micro-gravity vortexit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I like nickdub's theory, but I suspect in fact that you've moved them closer to a black hole, so gravity is very strong and time has slowed down, meaning not only do they feel heavier but you're also holding on to them for longer than before.
Or something like that.Last edited by Snoop Puss; 13-05-2019, 09:36 AM.

Ah, you've moved them slightly closer to Switzerland and the secret black hole which CERN created.

Or something like that.
(if however one's in the sink, and the other is bust, you probably have Gremlins)

It's the same force that makes my leathers shrink in the off-season...
As it happens, I am walking like John Wayne today as our pond has developed large amounts of unpleasant algae and I have been removing it - only way to do this is to stand astride the pond and scoosh it out... Sore legs this morning.
