Pesky flags

We have been in current house 30 years or so. The front approach is three sets of steps, each step is three flags wide, 2ft by 2ft flags.
Over the years the flags bedding has crumbled and I now need to re-lay some of them.
When I was young I used to throw flags round like lozengers, even 3ft by 2ft. But now at 66 the 2x2 feel very heavy.
Still I re-layed the first flag using some quick set cement.
Very impressive that cement, sets in around 10 mins. Could be useful for some cement over shoes for some one I know!
So I am spending my time flagging and not gardening which is very annoying.
Hire a builder you say.
Being a scrooge not likely.

That'll be because you're closer to the Secret Swiss Black Hole than Rary - you'll be feeling the effects on the flags more.

OK just bedded down another flag.
When you lift them you have to spend an age chipping off the old morter.
As am not Thor I now have an aching arm from swinging Mjolnir.
Also I had to buy 2 bags of sand and one of cement and then mix it myself in my barrow.
So I am now exhasted and blobed in front of the box, the one with pictures not the one at the end of the slippery slope.
