So my boss and bossboss have asked to try chard out, so I went home, got a few bags and boxes and the dog and took a brisk walk up to the allotment. Forecast said thunder but the sky looked fairly clear. I took the chance
I got up there, picked a couple of bags of chard and kale, and a box and a half of blackberries. I started walking back to the site entrance as it had started raining very finely, and I heard a few rumbles...... and that is when it happened!! A huge row of blackberries, large, black, shiny, juicy blackberries. Well I had room for a few more in my tubs so stopped and started picking!!
Then..... the heavens absolutely opened and I was hammered by torrential rain and I couldn't even see the opposite plot through the rain!! I put the box down, grabbed a plastic bag and held it over my head, as if that was gonna do any good, slowly backing into the hedge for shelter. I could feel a river down the back, literally going in between my cheeks haha I couldn't see a thing through my glasses and the dog was stood with her head stuck into the hedge haha
That's what I get for being greedy!!
