Do you think the Vine has changed?

Has the vine really changed? it will change due to the additions or losses of different personalities sometimes for the good and sometimes not so good but generally speaking over the years we have all pulled in the same direction (except possibly Derby and Joan or Rary and VC as we know them ).

I know I always try and always have tried to help with answers to gardening queries if I have the knowledge to do that and I treasure the virtual friendships I have made on here including Lumpy .

My biggest problem is I don't the time to be here as much as I like.

AP if what you mean by "all pulled in the same direction" you are all getting older except VC and myself I agree, well in my part as for VC she is of an age where you stop counting the years

People change not the vine and as previously mentioned thats not always a bad thing!

This time of year things normally get quieter as folk have other things to plan or secondary hobbies to pursue.

So if you stop visiting and posting Lumpy, it will change again

Morning! The Vine has certainly lost a few of the characters which were here when I first joined, but then others have joined. This year I haven’t grown anything as I have had other things to contend with, I don’t get on here as much as I would like but when I do I know that the support from my virtual friends, either on gardening issues or personal issues, is always there! Sure we change depending on our circumstances but I still love coming in here to read about whatever everyone is up to...including you Lumpy and you have been missed!
As it’s been a while, I’m off for a catch up...hope to see you on here again Lumpy! X

I've not really been on at all this year, I've had a fair bit to grapple with which has put the stops on lots of things. (I'll take one of those hugs too VC!)

My limited experience of forums (and I was kicked off the same one as Baldy and Cadders) is that they go through peaks and dips of contribution with some staunch people who stick through. I do think of this place as being thoroughly welcoming and caring, as well as a fount of practical gardening knowledge.

Nice to see you online though. I need to go off and have a catch up like Jay.

ETA: I did put a reminder in my phone to make sure I came on to also remind you....[sucks in deep breath] THE CUCURBITS VSP IS OPEN FORRA MONTH!

Seriously, in the eight years I've been a member my life has changed so much, both bad and good. Nothing is static. I have been through bad times when I rarely visited and if I did it was to rant (rant thread sorely missed!). I got a smartphone and suddenly photos were a click or two away. If everyone else's life has been anything like the helter skelter of mine I'm not surprised that the forum is constantly changing.

I doubt that you would find many Grapes who haven't had a few ups and downs over the years they've been here. Some want to share, some don't. Just because we don't post about it, doesn't mean that life is running smoothly.
