What do you wear to garden in?

Spurred on by thoughts of waterproof boiler suits, what do grapes wear to do battle with their plots? Did you buy it specially? is it specifically for gardening?

I have a padded check shirt I bought from Aldi/Lidl that is solely for working on the plot, and a pair of wellies. I also wear my rain/sun/motor-racing/beer-drinking/gardening hat and otherwise old clothes that are to hand

I wear old clothes mainly, my day job involves driving a 'puter on a desk and requires smart attire. Depending upon the season I go from old tee shirt, shorts and flip flops to Wellies, Long trousers and layers. I like working outdoors and so have long sleeve cotton shirts, a fleece lined shirt, jumpers, sleeveless body warmers, an old leather jacket, a long wax coat etc.
I did buy some Dickies work trousers which are handy for pockets, I bought steel toe cap workboots for general garage and outdoor jobs and the long wax coat plus wide brim hat for the wet weather. Other than that it's old jeans and shirts past thier best and with the knees ripped/worn from hard use (not as a fashion statement).
I guess the old addage is there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.
I tend to wear the outer layers a number of times, even cacked in mud, if I put on clean I'm usually on my knees in the mud withing 30 mins of arriving at the plot.

Onnsummer mornings it's mostly pyjamas
On my feet I mostly wear fit flops - the clog type and when it's wet I have a pair of those short wellies, if I'm digging/planting bigger stuff I have a pair of steel toe capped lace up shoes.
When it's colder, I usually wear a fleece or my "dog walking" coat that can be washed. I hate jeans so trousers with lots of pockets and T-shirt's. I've a big garden, so these are my normal everyday at home clothes. I change to go out

In cold and wet weather I wear an old pair of ski trousers (padded and waterproof). I also have a hooded fleece lined men's check shirt which is nice and warm. A pair of the rubber snow boots complete this glamorous attire. This outfit lives in the car to put on over my everyday clothes.
At warmer times it's Jean's or shorts, preferably with lots of pockets, a t-shirt and sandals.

Anything well past it's best does for me - so patched jeans, old woollies or t-shirts, my old waterproof coat with or without its fleece lining, plus old trainers.
The only things new are my wellies - the old ones started leaking, so finally had to be replaced

I have plenty of very old run down clothes which I wear, though occasionally I will wear my nice clothes i.e the clothes without any holes in them by mistake if I can't be bothered to change. I like wellies for winter, because its a mud pit at mine at the moment, flip flops for the summer.

Like Scarlet I do a lot of my gardening in my pj’s I don’t mean to I go in the garden first thing then next thing I know I’ve built a pea frame and started planting out.
Rest of the time it’s either shorts/cargo pants with crocs or boots.

Always Work trousers and wellies. Depends what the weather is doing as to what’s on the top half.

Jeans and Tshirt/fleece with pseudo clogs or steel toe cap riggers if I digging or burrowing into brambles.
Apart from the footwear its what I always wear,

If its wet, i don't garden but I have an old Hi Vis jacket for visiting the chooks if its raining.
I hate hats and would rather get my hair wet than wear one.

Seriously though, at the moment...jeans, neoprene wellies (best thing ever to keep feet warm), body warmer and ancient fleece - and baseball cap to keep slightly drier. In the summer it was shorts, flip flops and sun top to stock up on vitamin D!

I have a small collection of old clothes I keep specially for the allotment. The fleece Ive had for over 25 years, jeans are patched but are more recent purchases.

I have 2 pairs of ALDI work trousers that I alternate, 1 pair every 2-3 months, unless they get caked in mud. Some old t shirts and old sweat shirts I have a selection of caps and woolly hats depending on weather.

I generally wear shirt and trousers like Scarlet I don't like jeans as when they get wet they get cold, I use my older clothes, or my newer clothes that I can't clean before OH sees them, as for footwear, I wear shoes I have rubber snow boots and neoprene wellys for walking the dog, as I don't walk on the soil and I have gravel paths around the garden there is no need for waterproof boots, and my shoes are always polished
