I've still got quite a bit left, but I was just thinking this would be a good time to try my hand at sourdough. Good luck. Hope it all goes well.

Sun trying to shine through today.

Me, I'm stuck at the computer. Mr Snoop is looking to set up a supplementary power system for us. Got most of the kit secondhand from some neighbours (relatively speaking - a few miles away), so hope it all works. Fingers crossed.

    Happy anniversary to the Raries.

Have a good day, everyone. Catch you later.

    • Mornings!

Why did the gas boiler wait until the virus was here to stop working properly - s*ds law I reckon
Anyway gasfitter been and fixed it, nice quick service Not allowed to 'sign' the touchpad to say the work had been done, though, and bill to be paid on-line, so no contact. He made sure to keep his distance and I've cleaned all the doorknobs now he's gone
Everything is very strange atm, isn't it?

It's grey and drizzly so no gardening today

      Take care.

          • Congratulations to the rarys! Late for school today as I couldn't find the car keys phoned eldests piano teacher who is self isolating and my parents to check they're ok. Did some washing up and tidying. Meant to work this afternoon, about to call my customer to see how soggy their ground is as it rained last night and this morning. Hoping to get out in greenhouse with small humphs this afternoon - both want to do gardening badge for Beaver's/Cubs.
            Another happy Nutter...

            • Good afternoon, we did manage to get over to the coast and had a nice but short walk, at least it got OH out for some fresh air, I am just sorry that I can't let her take me out for a meal, however there will be a time in the future Though the sun was out the wind was a bit cold as there is still snow on the Arran hills and until that's gone there will be no heat in the wind, also I did collect a couple of bags of seaweed, I just collected 2 bags as I didn't want to push my luck, any more than that and the car fills with small flys, we are now back home and I will be going out to spread the seaweed, then into the greenhouse to make some space for more seedlings, I should have stuck to my plans of holding of till about April, personally I blame VC why I read her posts about seed sowing I do not know it's possibly because she is so much older I thought she should know what she is doing, however the seeds were sown and I now will need to sort things out, one good point about it is that it means I have no time to be bored,

Same to you Flo...work must be crazy for you at the moment?...hope you are looking after yourself x

Light frost last night and it's set for -2 after weekend so there goes my mirabelles and most of my plums again this year

Just found out that we're not allowed to walk more than 1km from the house - and you are to walk alone ( or with a dog), with a permit ... or be fined....and cycling is banned getting more serious innit?

Still..the garden is starting to look like it's getting some attention at least

Nearly weekend...and also Spring equinox!...and the clocks go forwards next weekend. It all go eh?

Keep safe peeps x. See ya later...

                  • It's calming down a bit now because we're converting face-to-face consultations to telephone, so patients don't have to come in to the department unless they do really need to "see" a doctor or have had a recent transplant. It's strange to see a notice saying "Please do not sit on this chair" on alternate seats in the waiting room! Anyway, bacon sandwich eaten, break over, we can do this

                    • ^Here, if you live in an urban area, pretty much all you're allowed to do is go to work and back and to the shops, chemist's or petrol station. And if you have a dog, you're allowed to walk around your block and that's it. 1 km is very generous in comparison! You can cycle if you're going to work, though, otherwise not. Only one person is to travel in a car unless the passenger is a child or otherwise cannot travel on their own. This being Spain, you need all kinds of documentary proof of where you're going (some kind of proof of where you work, for example) or why you have a passenger to show to cops/army if you're stopped.

I can't imagine what it's like in a flat with kids and pets in somewhere like Madrid or Barcelona, where property prices are so high people make do with tiny apartments.

Fortunately, we live miles from anyone, so walking the dogs is no problem. Tick season is here, but fortunately Mr Snoop bought tick collars for them all during the last shop even though they weren't on the list. Smart man.

I need to look on the bright side today. Yesterday was rubbish. Thank goodness for Mr Snoop is all.

                      And restart.

Cloudy and chilly. A bit more rain forecast for the weekend and then more in a few days. Plenty of work to keep me occupied meanwhile.

Have a good day, everyone. Catch you later.

                      • Mornings.

Just seen my next-door neighbour going out, although he's coughing I don't think he is taking this seriously. I must remember to stand well back from the door if he knocks asking me if I want any help
It's another grey damp day with a cold NE wind, the MetO is telling me it 'feels like' 3C and me and Mollycat agree it's cold out there
So, domestics for me this morning and then, as my new book has just arrived......

Have a good'un and take care!

                        • Good morning, just in for a quick word for Nicos, I remember several years ago I was at a talk from an organic gardener who grow a lot of different varieties of apples and to protect the blossoms in early spring he hung black water filled containers on the trees which collected enough heat during the day to protect the trees from frost at night, if I remember correctly he said it didn't protect all the blossoms but enough to give some fruits so may be worth considering

                            • Morning all. A heavy white frost here this morning which quickly went when the sun came up.
When its bright like this I hate staying indoors so will go and get some petrol for my lawnmower and chainsaw and maybe cut the grass for the first time this year?

Failing that, there are plenty of jobs to do in the garden once I get the housework done.

Just had my favourite brekkie, a couple of fried egg sarnies and a boat load of pills prescribed and not, so I am in fine fettle.

Its surprising how a bit of sunshine can cheer you up.

                              Take care folks.
