Good afternoon a lovely day here sun shining and garden drying out, I went to a tesco this morning but had a look at the queue to get in and just turned around and headed for lidl, empty shelves there so just went home, we have sufficient stock in the house to last for a time and no it hasn't come from panic buying just our normal of keeping a stock in the house, we can survive without milk bread and many other perishable foods, I no longer need to watch the boys as both my son and his wife are off work and my daughter has been sent home to self isolate, though not what I consider good news as that is just as worrying, however if people do as they are asked things will improve, but I think a vast majority are sticking their head in the sand, however enjoy your gardening and I hope you and yours stay safeit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Nipped into the kitchen to make myself some lunch and saw that the she shed door is open. It didn’t open itself. Went to see if anything is missing but nothing as far as I can tell. Whoever it was had also moved the safety gate that stops Prince getting on to the road at the back. I can’t lock it as the door has warped.
I brought back a wine kit, so that’s my job for the afternoon."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

Promised dog I would take him for a longer walk if he did his business. He obliged so I got lumbered with a longer walk
Had a go at clearing the area behind my shed to put my 8 'X 4' table I made as I am sick of cutting around it with the lawn mower.
I managed to manhandle the table/workbench by myself (much to OH's dismay as she thought I would have a heart attack trying to move it myself)
Its still not fully into position but I should have a new influx of energy by tomorrow.

Black bags eh rary?...that make sense. Always worth a try.
But darn...where to find black plastic bags???
Had a good day 'sorting'. One cupboard and some of my sewing stuff. Plenty more to do, but it's a good start.
Been rather chilly here today so it's been nice to do something indoors which is'nt physically exhausting"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Just had a phone call from my eldest son checking up on me and seeing if I need anything. We had a long discussion about what is or isn’t in the shops. His fil is an avid hoarder and frequently passes stuff over to them when he runs out of room. Some can be quite bizarre, like gallon jars of pickled gherkins. Today they collected about 50 loo rolls. This is not panic buying, just the fil’s previous overstocking. They are going to check if he has pasta and rice for me, oh and dried milk."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

Good evening it has been a lovely day today, looked out some plastic pallets than my boy wanted, so that something else removed from the backdoor, brushed up the drive then potted on some lupins, then washed the car, oh and also washed some windows, it's great to see the sun but OH sees to many marks on the windows and now wants the cooker cleaned I can see this staying I being a problem, however I am sure that I should manage to wriggle out of it some way I also planted my tatties today and here's a question where would you put some seaweed when planting potatoes, would you put it below or above them, so with that I am now off to watch TV for a time Goodnightit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Evening all. Finding good news is difficult innit. However, I stuck up a post on FB suggesting folks start preparing some ground including flowerbeds for cultivation of veg which would also provide something for kids to do. Almost 40 responses in our wee village group so super chuffed.
On the downside, today we cancelled our trip to Normandy which we had scheduled for 12th June(an important ww2 anniversary) . That date falls smack bang in the middle of the forecast peak of the Covid Virus thingie. No option but to pull back from it.

Mornin n'alln'all
What a fantastic thing to set up AP!
I think most tourism things in Normandy will be closed all summer tbh
From the notifications we have received, Events locally including those up September have been cancelled.
Sadly things are getting stricter here because of stupid morons refusing to follow the lockdown guidelines/laws.
Seems like a curfew is inevitable soon.
More gardening today. Wish I had more potting compost.
I'm clearly not going to be able to get any geraniums for all my pots either so I've decided to sow nasturtium seeds in some my pots instead as they won't need new compost...
I really feel for the local plant nurseries...they are going to have thousands of plants and no way of selling them
Keep safe peeps...see ya later x"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Chilly night last night and a hard frost on the ground this morning.
Mr Snoop due to get second set of solar panels set up today. Inverter-charger will go up at some point thereafter. All equipment second hand, so all getting tested a bit at a time rather than flummoxing ourselves with something not working at the end and not knowing what.
Hope you're doing OK, Janie.
So, on with the show for me. Plenty to be getting on with.
Have a good one, everyone. Catch you later.

Frosty start to the day here.
A hard day for my better half. It would have been her Mum's 91st birthday but she lost her this last year. It was intended to have a wee family commemoration but social distancing requirements have kicked in as have local restaurant closures. Her 94 year old Dad who is totally blind and wheelchair bound is in lockdown in the old folks home he now lives in and she would have liked to be with him at least for a while today.
On the home front, the new local gardening group page I've set up on Facebook is keeping me occupied. I'm easily amused

Thanks SP. I’m fine but only 4 days in. I think I have enough stuff to keep me going for about 5 weeks, by which time things in the supermarkets should have calmed down and I might be able to get a delivery slot. I don’t need to do online grocery shopping as a rule so was surprised when trying to order stuff yesterday as to how many supermarkets I have had groceries delivered by. (3).
I’ve always been happy with my own company and I seem to have enough friends and family keeping in touch to stop me feeling lonely.
Anyway. Plans for today. I could try levelling the bit of garden round the patio ready for turf to be laid. And/or plant some seeds, weed the planters, clean the kitchen floor. My son said there won’t be a dirty house left."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
