    • Back indoors until it cools down a bit. Nearly finished clearing the space for the poly tunnel, but it’s too hot to finish.

I don’t know why I bothered to buy a TV mag for this week as the programs still aren’t what’s advertised. Not that they’re much cop anyway.

I’ll read my book and conserve my energy for when it’s cooler.

      • Well,my gardening today comprised of digging a hole! I have a 4 inch square post 8 foot long and a 6 foot fence which is bowing in the middle. The answers was to add a support post.
Dug a 2 foot deep hole, just at my maximum arm length when lying on the ground to scoop the soil out.
Post is in now and propped up so that its square. Not as easy as it sounds, but I'll not bore you with the details.
I'll try and rig up some post mix concrete tomorrow from what I have (maybe pinching some gravel off the drive) and then I will be able to get rid of the angled support and sleep tight at night knowing the fence will not blow over

        • Good evening, it has been a lovely warm day today, started off dull and damp but by mid day began to brighten up so got out and cleared the main bed there was still a few carrots in the ground but have now lifted them and OH can make some soup with them, I removed all weeds then howed
the ground, as there was a fair bit of moss in the ground I decided to scatter some lime, I have scattered chicken manure on a third of the bed then lime on the next third and the last third I have left as it was though I have a drum of home made compost that I might put on it, I will think on that, I also put another support in for my enviromesh as I felt it was beginning to sag a bit, it now looks ok so quite happy with thatClick image for larger version

ID:	2386951 this photo shows the section of the bed with manure and the bit with the lime, the rake that's visible is one I have had about 40 years its what you might call a double headed rake as you can turn the head over to whatever side you want one side acts a bit like a cultivator as the blades have a slight twist in them the other side has straight blades and great for getting a fine tilth on the surface .well enjoy your evening and remember to stay safe and stay at home and smile and remember to keep the egg rolling within your own grounds

          • Good evening again, have been doing a bit of reading, and also having a whisky or two which I don't normally do (the whisky not the reading) and Cani its whisky not whiskey valley Glenfidoch and for a malt it quite nice, if it his lockdown lasts I can see me having to restock as I only have another six bottles our son arrived down today with some supplies, he brought milk, cream, breadbasket box of chocolate biscuits and a box of red wine ring which was much appreciated, shortly after our SiL appears with a box of fruit and veg. which had leeks, carrots, onions and potatoes along with Apples, pears, grapes, pineapple kiwi fruit and oranges, along with a box of white wine so I think I should be ok do or a month or two

            • Evening everybody, not been on this thread for a while, I finished power washing the patio today, then power washed all the furniture and set up all the furniture for the annual family Easter BBQ, however, attendance was a bit light, we had My wife (Nana), me (Raz), Bob-the builder, Dustin the turkey, mini mouse and Mickey Mouse, Tigger the tiger, Max the lab, a black monkey, and a black baby dolly. So I made a video and sent to my children and grandchildren, also to my nieces and their family and my brother and his wife. They all loved it. Then after dinner we had to put them all to bed for a sleepover in my granddaughters cot. Made a video of them all going to bed.

Morning all. A bit cloudy at the moment, but due to brighten up at lunchtime. So we can sit outdoors again.

No exciting news to report. Except, I clearly have magical powers. By looking at Mr Snoop for long enough, I've made him nervous enough to offer to make coffee.

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone. Don't eat all the chocolate in one go. You'll be glad of some tomorrow.

                      • Morning, it’s a tad dull this morning. Happy Easter everyone, hope you have a lovely day...don’t eat too many Easter eggs!! We have none as OH forgot to buy them when he went shopping the other day and he obviously just can’t go back for them. So it’s a chocolate free Easter for us this year!
                        Enjoy your day. x

Dull, grey and lashing rain here.
No chocolate as we havnt been shopping.
Hoping my kids come by with some.

                            • Morning all. Quite a bit cooler today than yesterday. Whilst walking the dog this morning I noticed the fields near to me had surface cracking, presumably to drought? Judging by the cloud cover I fancy we may get a downpour which will alleviate that.

I need to try and get to allotment some time today to water stuff in greenhouse after yesterdays heatwave. A few odds and ends to buy too, but not looking forward to standing in massive queues to get them. I will probably visit my local corner shop (close to allotment) and get my bits and bobs there.

                              TTFN and keep safe.
