  • Having a lazy morning this morning. Theirs a white frost on the lawn and haven't had the dogs out yet. They don't seem bothered.
Its supposed to warm up today so I will find some outdoor work to do either at allotment or in garden. Supplies are getting low so I may have to visit the shopping queues.

Take care all and look after yourselves. and others

    • Morning all, suns up but it’s chilly!

I like to use the dryer to fluff up my towels but it will just have to be scratchy ones straight from the line!

Hope you all have a lovely day. x

      • Good morning all.
It's a beautiful sunny morning with blue skies but just 8 degs.
        Another day in the garden.
A walk in the back lane.
        No other plans.
Have a good day and stay safe,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        • Mornin n'alln'all
Not sure if we had a frost last night but we covered the strawberries and one of the pear trees with fleece just in case
Yesterday didn't quite go as planned as we decided to dig up one of the strawberry beds and replant as it was smothered with weeds and scutch. Took a lot of doing but I was chuffed to see how established last years runners were
Homemade hot cross buns for breakfast. Going to make the most of them as the diet kickstarts this weekend.

Talking of washing lines we have a traditional French one
          It's really ugly!
Concrete posts with 5 metal wires running between them.
We decided to rip it up when we first came here but didn't get round to doing it.
First summer I hung a traditional plastic washing line between the house and a tree -perfect I thought.
Until it melted in the heat
So, it's just as well we still have the other one. Our problem is we can't hang dark clothes on it for long in the summer as they bleach. And white sheets get covered in insect poo spots....and bird poop.
Speaking of which I need to get a washerload going! Thanks for the reminder.

          See ya later peeps.

              • Afternoon all.

Patchy cloud here and a bit windy, but not too cold. Forecast amount of rain has plummeted. Fingers crossed it doesn't go back up again.

After yesterday's success with the flour order, accountant has told me today I'm able to claim govt support for the self-employed. So that's improved the outlook for us no end. Was a bit anxious but feeling a lot more settled. Two types of bread and both very welcome.

Great tooth story by the way, Nicos. Here the mayor sent out an official notification to all the children in the village saying the tooth mouse (Ratoncito Pérez) was considered an essential worker and would be continuing his rounds despite the government lockdown.

Good luck with the food order, Jay. Good luck with the long-distance physio, CG. And good luck with the coffee, Rary. Let's see if your magical powers are as good as mine...

Have a good one everyone. Catch you later.

This technique has been proven to improve fruit production and bring joy and happiness to fruit bowls world wide.

............and, whatever you're thinking this isn't a random attack of nuttiness brought on by isolation - I've always been like this.

Enjoy your day, whatever it brings!!

                  • Hello everybody,

The good news is …..I finally managed to get a delivery slot, the bad news is ….. there were no eggs, butter/marge or milk left in store, the things I most needed of boo hoo! I should be grateful for small mercies, I suppose, at least I'm not starving. I've got a panful of raspberries on for more jam. So bread and jam will be just that, as no butter to be had

After a cold night, it has warmed up a bit, but nothing like the last few days, now back to normal spring weather I suppose

Have a good'un and stay safe.

                    • Good afternoon, cool but dry today, have spent the morning lifting the monoblock around the edge of the driveway and removing the weeds, still quite a bit to do but its sore on the legs and back as I am unable to kneel, so just a wee bit more today then a rest, enjoy your garden and stay safe but remember you don't need to be up close to give a smile
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                      • I'm taking a 10min break. I have turf arriving sometime on Thursday and the ground needs to be prepared. I wasn't given an option of which day for delivery and thought it didn't matter as I'm in self isolation. But it matters now as my friend has an urgent hospital appointment that day and the only way she can get there is if I take her. She's in self isolation too. The turf has to be signed for and has to be left on the roadside or pavement as I have no front garden. My plan was to wheelbarrow it up the ginnel as soon as it arrives. I can ask my neighbours to sign for it, but I think the wheelbarrowing is my responsibility.

The digging is going much faster than I expected. I'm doing it in increments of 20mins then a 10min break. I've already done more than 1/4 of the area. It's more to check for bricks, large stones, bits of metal and paving slabs. I'll put the excavator over it after to break it into a finer tilth. I then have to level and rake it. Looks as if I might actually get it all done today.

I'm really keen to get it done and put my PT up. Right, teabreak over.

I would have liked your post but that will be a pain. Just for info, I had a similar issue a couple of years ago. I took the back of and discovered some fluff had stuck under a contact. Fluff removed, heat restored. Hope your problem is resolved as easily
