Looks like it would be a popular move, Bren. FF interested too. Be gentle with us as we're total beginners.

Relatively productive morning here. Supposedly wall-to-wall cloud and a bit of drizzle today, but in fact bright sunshine and even a bit hot for the time of year. So, rather than trying to weed, I set about sorting out the freezer. All neat, tidy and defrosted. And my little book of freezer contents is back up to date. So, all good there. Got rather a lot of frozen peas... Btu

Right, off to post on the sourdough thread. Nicos, I'll reply to your comments here over there.

Have a lovely afternoon, everyone. Catch you later.

      • Good afternoon a lovely bright sunny day today, though OH was out to cut some daffodils this morning but had to go back in for her jacket as there was a very cold wind blowing, I went into the field and cut a large bunch from where the boys had planted them last year, the boys wanted to come down and do something with the bed but much as I would like to see them I thought it better that they stay away, however as I can now use WhatsApp we see and talk to them regularly, I never thought that I would be grateful for modern technology. Well I am for out to the greenhouse for a wee while to do some potting on, but won't be out too long as OH noticed bruising around my ankles which I get if I am on my feet too long so she is now making sure Im not standing too long, enjoy the day stay safe and stay smiling

        • It's been wet and chilly all day so not very productive, spent a while in the greenhouse this afternoon re-potting, mainly butternut squash which were all pot bound with long roots curling out of the bottom I was as gentle as possible teasing them out, hope they survive. I have some beds ready for them, dare I plant them out with some double glazing panes or fleece over them as I am fast running out of space, must stop sowing.

          • Just spent an hour wrestling a 50 foot yellow anaconda that had a mind of its own in the mud caused where I had patched the lawn with soil and seed.

For future reference I think I will have to purchase about three joints for the hose so I only need to hook up the amount I actually need.

Anyway, all watered now, including getting the bird poo off the car.

That brings back memories Lan fair etc etc
Many, many years ago my Biology teacher was Welsh and by the end of the first term we could all pronounce that perfectly. She made lessons such fun, unlike most of the other teachers

              • Get one of those expanding ones they're brilliant, once the water is on they grow to about 30m when you turn it off they shrink back to about 10.

                  • I would recommend one of those recoil hose systems Snadger, they are a bit expensive but saves a lot of bother

                    • I use a hose on a reel that you pull out/rewind. Buying a reel maybe be cheaper than a recoil hose (when you already have a hose).

Nah, it will be cheaper still buying three connectors!

I had one of those hose reels but threw it out after my foot got stuck in it!

I got my foot stuck while trying to hold it down whilst winding in hose and scored a try with it into next doors garden.

Apparently 1 tsp. Doesn't seem like much but what do I know. See here (1/2 tsp per 100 g):

I have bought two of those thinking how light they would be.
The first leaked after about 6 weeks so thinking it was faulty bought a second one.
