  • Morning all. Dry at the moment but doesn't look like it'll stay this way for long.

Work on the cards today. Far too much sitting around looking at the internet these last few days, so better step on it.

Have a good one, everyone. Catch you later.

    • Good morning all. Crossword done, tea drunk, time to start the day. Lay the left over turf at the bottom of the garden. That shouldn’t take long. Then I can put up the Polytunnel.

          • Morning All. Another day fighting with the plastic shed build for me. I realised yesterday I'd put on two metal strengtheners on upside down and by that time I'd had enough so I called it a day. Just been out and fixed them so it's cuppa tea time before I put the roof panels on and hang the doors.

Once upon a time I'd have had this up in an afternoon, I'm not liking this aging process at all.

It'll be done and dusted today though barring any more mishaps of course, lol.

Have a good one peeps. x

              • Mornings! (just)

Yes, another lovely sunny day, but a very cool breeze - so I still need a fleece unless I'm in the g/house.
Some potting on for me after this coffee

Have a good'un and stay safe

                • Afternoon n'alln'all
                  Lovely weather here too
Slow start to the day but I'm off out gardening after my brew.
Managed a trip to the pharmacy and local corner shop yesterday which was a weird experience having not been near the general public for about 4weeks.

However I had a lovely experience driving home-the road was tree lined on both sides for quite some distance and a cuckoo started flying ahead of me over the road . I was probably driving at 25-30 mph and it kept ahead of me for at least a couple of minutes until it could fly off sideways.
I have images of it sitting in a field puffing away on some ventolin trying to catch its breath!

Right...off out to play with some secateurs!

                  • My next door neighbour at home heard me puffing and panting in the garden while I stripped the turf off a new border with a spade and told me I'd better go and have a lie down!

Anyway, I came in, had a cold drink and am gradually cooling down. I've got the washing to hang out so I better get cracking. A trip to the post office is next on the list as I have a couple of ebay books I've sold to send off.
Our main Post Office was moved into a mobile phone shop but because they aren't allowed to sell phones they have just shut the lot down, causing untold hardship for the locals who have to travel miles to post a letter.
I will probably call at the allotment on the way back to water up and possibly clear an area on the greenhouse bench to accommodate my toms and chillies.

Take care folks and don't forget to have a lie down if you need to!

                    • By the time my get up and go arrived today it was too hot for me to garden. I watered the new lawn, measured up and marked out where the left over turf is going, went indoors for a cuppa and something to cut the binding on the poly tunnel and stayed indoors. I’ve racked 5 gals red wine and started off the same of white. I’m now sitting at the kitchen worktop with another cuppa watching the bees and butterflies in the lilac.

                      There’s always tomorrow.

                      • Good evening another nice day today though there is still a cold wind blowing, planted out some onion plants that I have hardened off and also emptied a large tub that I had planted some potatoes in last year and there was a fair crop of potatoes some of which I have now planted out, I have used a bit of the plot in the field behind the house, as the boys won't be able to do any work in it for a while the potatoes might get eaten up by some of the wild life or possibly someone helping themselves to them, no matter if I get a crop, fine if the wildlife or someone else get them that's fine at least they won't go to waste . Well everything in the greenhouse has been covered with fleece and I am going to try and, set up some, questions for a family quiz, oh and also try and get zoom as they want to use that while doing the quiz, now I will need to find out whit that is, they got me on to what's app and now it's this zoomI took redundancy because I couldn't be hassled with all this technology and now I am doing more and more of it, though it is good to see the grandchildren by using it, but I find it very intrusive and time consuming, life has changed considerably because of it, well that the moan finished for today, so keep well, keep safe and keep smiling Goodnight

                        • Rary, we have just been told to download Zoom as we are having a family quiz on Saturdsy night.
Like you, we are learning more about technology since the lockdown.
I suppose any kind of learning, especially if it's new is good for the brain.
                          Enjoy and stay safe.
