  • Morning all, another lovely start to the day! OH joined me yesterday for my daily stroll...round the garden!!! As I’m shielding the garden is as far as I get and thank goodness we have one!!! Just over 3,000 steps going to try for more today. Will be wearing a path in the lawn soon.
Hope you all have a lovely day...looks as though the weather is going to be good for most!

    • Mornin n'alln'all
      Stunningly beautiful morning here
Birds are a-singing and there is a solitary bee making its home in one of the beams of our bedroom and a European hornet keeps getting in and investigating the beams too
We have 3lilac trees 2 pale purple and one a mid purple . Must cut some for inside the house. They smell lovely don't they?

I might do some emptying of pots today (we must have about 40) -no idea if I'll eventually be able to get flowers for them ( or potting compost!), but I'm tempted to bung in some spuds and a few nasturtium seeds instead. -maybe some red chard.
Time for a quick brew in any case - help yourselves...

      • After reading Nicos’ post I had to check what lilac trees/shrubs looked like. Now I think I may have had one in the garden but thought it was a buddleia!! Unfortunately the wind toppled it during a storm earlier in the year but I took cuttings and they seem to have taken off. Anyone know how to tell these apart?

        • Aaarrgghhh! And again!!!

Yes I support the lockdown but my frustration levels are at boiling point today.

02 in their wisdom (ha!) keep emailing me to say they haven't received the monthy payment for my mobile. The mobile I cancelled 2 months ago! This morning they tell me they are going to disconnect me and add a £20 disconnection charge onto my account! They will only take calls about fraud/lost phones and the like and everyone else gets cut off (found this out after going through the automated system first. I replied to their email and was given another link to email them on. It doesn't work. The chat system is down. This is not the first time 02 have messed up and it usually takes days to sort out but because of the lockdown I cant actually talk to anyone. Grrrr! Aaarghh! #othernoisesoffrustration.

I finished the shed yesterday but cant use it as I need to put 2 and a half sheets of plywood or OSB down and of course I can't get this delivered anywhere So the contents of my shed are distributed throughout the house and I cant move.

Might just go back to bed! Mood isn't great today!

Hope you all have a better day than the one I appear to be having!

          • Morning, lovelies.

Hope your day improves, gardening gal. Not surprised you're frustrated.

Weather supposed to be mostly dry here today. Just read out the forecast for the next two weeks to Mr Snoop. Rain nearly every day. I still can't even stand on the soil in my veg patch. Weeds are shoulder height in places now. The grasses have really taken off in these conditions.

Other than that, more work on the cards for today.

Hope you all have a good day. Catch you later.

            • GG, have you got Twitter? If you have DM them, companies are usually pretty good at getting back to you that way. On saying that my son waited about 3 months for a £100 refund from a certain warehouse who sells phones!! The lockdown is a great excuse unfortunately!

              • Afternoon, I couldn't get on the vine at all this morning and even now it's incredibly slow (other sites are ok, so not t'internet itself!) Each time I just got buffering until it timed out before connecting...

Tis my buffday, and it's been very strange just getting texts instead of cards and visitors. I made myself a small cake, coffee and walnut - my fav, so I've been scoffing that in the sunshine

Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe

Yes, the vine was so slow today I actually gave up on it.
Hope all are well and safe.

                          • Mornin n'alln'all
Looks like another lovely day ahead weatherwise
More planting out again for me today. Not got enough fleece if we get another old snap but I'll worry about that if and when.

Jay-the Vines not going anywhere as far as we mods are aware.
It's actually supposed to be going through a major upgrade which was due to start just as the lockdown started so we're presuming that's either on hold for now, or slowly being worked on.

                            Difference between lilac and buddleias?
Lilac have heart shaped leaves and buddlia long thin leaves.
Lilac have clusters of flowers in a fat cone shape whereas buddlia have elongated cones of flower (and flower later in the season)
Lilac tend to be more scented.

Breakfast trays in their usual places peeps -enjoy!
