    • Evening
Yes a lovely day here too.Dogs were rather warm, do not help themselves though sunning it. Got my jobs done and even potted up some swiss chard and little gem lettuce .
It is rather crowded in the gh but as snadger said due to be cold again. Noticed -2 on couple of nights which is always colder than that. Roll on warm weather again, supposed to rain tonight.
Have decided to remove herb wood planter that sits on decking , tomorrows job .
Really must tackle the list and stop adding to it.
      Have a good evening .

        • Good morning still dry just now but a blustery cold wind blowing and with all the leaves blowing about the garden it must have been quite a strong wind overnight not sure what I will do today, but just going to set up the computer for the church service, so will catch you later, stay home, stay safe and stay happy

Have you thought of a mattock or Chillington hoe, Snadger?

Meanwhile, absolutely pouring down here. It's going to be a lot more than they forecast... Lots of minuscule toads are coming into the house (we leave the doors open for the dogs and cats to come and go).

D has a serious toad phobia and this is not the best place for him to be at the moment. Tried to cross the valley yesterday with him to look at the fallen oaks but impossible. Too much water, but more than that, a carpet of tiny toads all over the place. I'm used to them from previous wet periods, but even I've never seen anything like them yesterday.

Anyway, work beckons, so better get on with it. Have a great day, everyone. And if I could, I'd give a double like for your words about friends, Burnie.

            • Afternoon n'alln'all
Finally managed to get on here!!!!

I'm struggling with my Internet at home too...yesterday we had 1.3 Mb speed .....stupidly slow ...so only just about managed to get to see emails etc.

Better today though. One of the frustrations of French country living I suppose. Can't complain cos I've got sooo much else to be grateful for.

Nice words Burnie .... agreed -friends are deffo worth the effort.

Yesterday we had an incredible thunderstorm , although it remained lovely and warm. We sat inside the front door and watched the lightning and the rumbling as it rolled around the valley.

Nicer weather today again but will be indoors from now on -I have 6 dozen eggs to try and do something with!!!!

Not had toads coming in Snoop -but Hibou did offer me a tailless lizard for my afternoon snack the other day.Poor thing.

Looks like we're in for frosts most of the coming weeks so I really must set my alarm to remind me to put the fleece over the strawberries and blowaway. Earthing up of the spuds might be a good idea too although we had decided not to do that this year.

              Right -best get baking!

              see ya later peeps.

freezing cold here today and grey skies.
The past week has been beautiful,so it's a bit of a shock to see it turn so cold.
hope all are well and hope the site starts to speed up again soon.
                Have a good evening all.

                        • Afternoon ..il fly by for some lovely fresh eggs .

Been very windy and didnt make me feel like doing much. I did get the planter emptied . Looks odd on the deck without it. Its bottom had rotted but the rest is ok, I'm thinking a raised bed elsewhere.
Better take these dogs again, getting the 'stare' .

                          • Just been down to the greenhouse and covered all my tomatoes and peppers for the night.
the temp is to drop really low and I am worried as to whether they will survive.
they are all too big now to bring them indoors.
                            Hoping for the best.

                            • Good evening, it has been a cold day and I stayed in the house but out to cover my plants when I was putting the plastic cloch over the tatties I noticed some of them coming into flower, then when in the greenhouse, where the temperature was up at 34c which was a reminder to me to always check the temp. when the Sun is out, I was covering the tomatoes with fleece there is a tomato plant with flowers, I just hope that the fleece and the cold air fan will be enough to keep it he frost off, I am going to try a post with some photo's to see how it works, if unsuccessful and it doesn't show I wish you a goodnight and for those getting a bit more freedom shortly, enjoy it but keep safe and if you are passing n anything to a stranger, make it a smile. Goodnight
