Evening all, still working from home no point in spreading flu germs. Picked up my youngest grandson from school for a sleep overnight with his nana and I. Bring him home tomorrow for his Santa visit to the forest.

Morning all. Up early for a Saturday because aged cat was shouting for breakfast. Very clear sky but an unbelievable 9 ºC out there. Positively balmy.
Plenty to do this morning. Then friend coming round at lunch to go over a form for his possible entitlement to a pension from a former employer in the UK. Every little helps.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

Just shuffled out of bed and feeling lazy.. Out yesterday at a friends and by the time I got home my sides had split and jaw was aching from the 'after election' banter I really can't believe how much cake and mince pies we got though between us Oh well - diet in the New Year as usual.

Morning all, the bed pulled a bit this morning as it was a bit parky.
In the process of swapping from BT telly and broadband to Sky telly and broadband. The BT broadband was cut off yesterday so had to rig up the Sky broadband. Suitably impressed up until now though
This means we are back onto basic telly until the Sky telly is set up in the new year.
Not to worry, I have recently latched onto the youtube channel and can watch what I want.
Getting the logs in this morning I was thinking I may get a bit of gardening done today.....then the sleet arrived and I thought "Nah, not in that"
Take care folks, and keep warm.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Both gites took priority naturally.
The whole longhouse is built of granite and this part was built in the late 1600s and has large granite blocks around the doors and windows, so we want to make a feature of them.
They are held together with mud. No pointing or anything! Then we're putting a mixture of hemp and limestone directly onto the walls for insulation
Then the floor will need resurfacing as there I shall no insulation there at all.
It's a huuuge job and that's why we've kept on putting it off. Also we can't do it when we have guests in the gites, so now is the only time we can crack on. Literally!
And the only professional who will be helping us is the electrician.
That should keep me out of mischief for a while eh???"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Nicos, that's a huge project you've taken on but it's the right thing to do.
Just imagine how delighted and proud you will be when its finished.
Also, no point in leaving it until you're too old to do it, you wont have the same energy.
Good luck and keep us updated.
Perhaps a little pic when its completed..

Good morning all.
A bitterly cold morning with the temp reaching just 2 degs with a freezing wind.
Staying g indoors today as it's just too cold for pitch and putt.
Plenty to keep me occupied for the day.
Enjoy, whatever you're doing.

Evening everybody it’s been a cold one in Kildare today, it was 2’C and we had snow and sleet. Inside now beside the fire watching the rugby, going to treat herself to a Chinese takeaway and a nice bottle of wine while I have a few bottles of Rodenbach which is a Belgian dark red bitter beer that I love.
