            • Good evening all this chatter about loosing weight I think you lassies are try to embarrass us gents I lost five pounds last week, but wasn't too worried as I hadn't been out the house, I eventually found it down the back of the chair though I think OH hid it there so that I would do a bit of dusting and talking of OH I had to take her back to the doctor this morning, she has more antibiotics and steroids to take and also go for an Xray next week, I am quite sure I am not the only one that wishes they could take the illness for them, this has lasted quite a while now that's 8 weeks and she is still suffering, need to try and buck her up a bit, right need to go I am giving oldest grandson a lift, the lack of buses in this area is getting rediculus especially when they say we shouldn't use the car as often, right that's him down need to go

              • Rary, sorry to hear Mrs Rary is still not feeling well.
                I will say a prayer.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

                • Evening all, seems to be a day for the doctors. I brought the missus to see orthopaedic surgeon, he has given her permission to start driving again, but to use the brace for the next 4 weeks weaning herself off it in conjunction with the physio. Happy days I’m off driving duty from this weekend.

                    • Morning, FF. Morning, everyone.

Very cold and frosty here this morning. Managed all of ten minutes' weeding yesterday. Still love my Japanese hoe! Anyway, hoping to get at it big time next week. But I still won't be sowing any seeds.

Hope Mrs Rary starts to perk up. Rather than holidays in the Lakes, Rary, how about a few days in the Canary Islands? They're one of those Goldilocks places - never too hot and never too cold. I could do with that this morning.

Hope you all have great days.

                      • Mornin n'alln'all
What a lovely sunny frosty morning

Glad to hear your Mrs is improving Can....and sorry to hear Mrs rary is still going through a rough patch -let's hope she's sorted soon,, as you say, 8 weeks is a heck if a long time to feel so poorly.
And lottie -glad peeps are keeping an eye on you too xxx

So, today, domestics and shopping in preparation for friends coming to stay. It'll make a nice change to get out of the house!

I've lost track of how long I've been without my car but there have been major major electrical issues needing sorting. Must be about 8weeks
We've finally found somewhere which will repair/upgrade the components at about 1/10th of the price a main dealer(which would just replace the whole thing) ...but we have to courrier them off so it's still ongoing
It does make me realise how much we need a secondcar out here in the countryside

So ..enjoy your day peeps-see ya later!

Absolutely. We've got a couple who've just moved in down the valley from us. They have one car, a nice new one that is going to rattle itself to death on the dirt tracks. Worse still, one of them can't drive. So if the other has an accident or is in some way incapacitated, they're stuck unless they can contact us to rescue them. If we're not in, their answer is to phone what's called 'civil protection' to come and get them. But their phone coverage is patchy to say the least... It's a disaster waiting to happen. I've suggested the non-driver should at least learn how to handle the car so they can get to the health centre in town. But the suggestion wasn't appreciated. We get on very well with them and it bothers me to see them so vulnerable.

We currently have three cars, all ancient bangers but up to the dirt tracks. Excessive for two people, clearly. But it makes me feel safe.

Blue skies and sunshine but cold and frosty with it... just saw the weekend forecast about storm Ciara OMG, Worried about the big greenhouse again now, don't spose there's anything I can do to make it safer - so I'll just have to cross everything I can...

                            Have a good'un

                            • Good morning all.
It was like a winter wonderland this morning when I opened the blinds.
The place was pure sparkly white with a temp of minus 2.
It's a very long time since we had frost like this.
Off out to lunch today with my two school friends.
Looking forward to a catchup as we havnt been together since Christmas.
Have a good day all and stay warm.
